If a third team could be found and the main trade chip was Tony Allen what teams would take him if the deal could still be done?  They'd have to meet a certain criteria.

1) They wouldn't mind taking a player with "character issues"
2) They are in need of two-guard depth
3) They either are under the cap, have a trade exception they don't mind using, or have a player they want to get rid of and Indiana or we might possibly want (for the right money)

Who does that leave?

The Clippers are thin at shooting guard (Mardy is a combo closer to a PG and their only backup) and they employed both Zach Randolph and Ricky Davis at one point, but do they have the cap room or interest?

Memphis- only currently has its starters and Marko Jaric at the guard they definitely need a guard and have some exceptions and cap room to me it seems like the best fit, and they currently employ Zach Randolph now.

Miami and Houston are also thin at the guard spot but don't have much cap room to work with.

Can anybody else think of some possible matches?

OKC might be interested, I remember when where interested in signing him when he was a Restricted to get the home grown thing going, though I'm sure that interest was probably fleeting.

I think Sacramento are the best chance. Give them $3 million and they'll make at least $500k profit.

No one wants Tony Allen. The only chance to move Tony Allen is at the trade deadline when teams are out of it and they want to reduce payroll for 2010. I just don't know if Tony Allen will be around that long.

sign and trade is not dead ... let me repeat - the sign and trade is not dead.

Larry wants scal not tony.   The moves to sign shelden and get bbd under contract were so that we could trade scal in the S&T to Indy.  With BBD iffy Scal was our 4rth big.  Now with BBD signing scal moves to 5th big man.  Sheldon was signed to replace Scal as our 5th big man.  Danny could not do the indy deal for scal without cementing that position.  He can now pull that trigger.

This will give us two open spots on the roster plus our LLE.  Perhaps Ainge will go after a veteran point with our LLE and give Hudson, Swift and Fazekis a chance to compete for the last one or two positions with a non-guaranteed contract.

Pay some team under the table to take him and give us a PG. Send him to Chicago with fillers for Jerome James. Just for the pure irony.

I think a non-contending team looking to shed a long term deal could still be interested in Tony in combination with Scal and/or eddie's expiring deals. Nocioni is one example. Perhaps Richard Hamilton if Detroit wanted to finagle their way into next year's FA market.
