2) he likely will drop in the draft because of this.

How would he drop in the draft when he's already been drafted?  Fantasy drafts?

If he sits out for the year, he re-enters the draft.

If he does sit out and enter next years' draft, he'll be a year older, a year removed from playing competitive football, and a known primadonna with unreasonable contract demands.

Doesn't really sound like someone likely to go in the top ten, does it?

  • I left Indiana. Because it was horrible.

Ah.  Thanks for clearing that up.
CB Draft Bucks: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tobias Harris, Zach LaVine, Aaron Afflalo, Jeff Green, Donatas Motiejunas, Jarrett Jack, Frank Kaminsky, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, Shane Larkin, Nick Young

DKC Bucks. Also terrible.

I'll say there is 0% chance he sits out the year.

My Niners need to remove the cesspool of an owner and his **** wife.

we know nothing about his contract demands being reasonable or unreasonable. The article actually implies that Crabtree's camp is just asking for something in line with what the #7 pick got.

The NBA has nailed the rookie contracts game.

The NFL's system results in half of the rookies missing half of training camp every year. How many years does somethign have to be broken before it gets fixed? We have unproven rookies making 4x as much as legit starters and pro bowlers. I don't know a lot about the situation, but I assume it has to be a dispute between the owners and the NFLPA??

Sounds like posturing to scare the team and squeeze a little more money. If he does go through with it, that would be a pretty dum mistake. First, he would miss out on a year of earnings and which he probably wouldn't make up with a contract next year even if it was slightly bigger. Second, he probably wouldn't even get picked in the first round. Nobody would waste a valuable draft pick for a player who has sat out a year and is so difficult to sign.

Reports are that he wants to get paid like he was the #7 pick as projected, not like the #10 pick he was.  Even if the Raiders were dumb, there were still eight other teams that thought someone else was better.

If he DOES sit out and gets drafted next year, what happens if someone takes him in the second half of the first round?  He still going to demand to get paid as a top-ten pick?  He's just going to end up hurting himself, it's hard enough for rookie WRs to have an impact, you miss a big chunk of training camp you never really catch up (and any incentives that might be built into whatever contract you DO sign become that much harder to reach).
