Every player in a tournament is, or has been, a pro (NBA, Overseas, Minor Leagues), or at a minimum, played in college. So I don't think there is any more risk playing in this tournament than there is of playing in an NBA game or NBA practice or NBA summer league.
NBA players aren't supposed to avoid playing basketball all summer so they don't get hurt. Big Baby got hurt last year punching his friend. They are supposed to be smart and not play against scrubs, not play on pavement, that kind of thing. Alot of the guys in this tournament could legitimately play in the NBA.
Anthony Anderson looked great...he starting playing in the minors about 4 years ago and won MVP of the league his first season. Then he played in Cyprus and Poland and had a tryout with the Indiana Pacers. Its hard to believe he's not better than: Marcus Banks, Anthony Carter, Toney Douglas, Daniel Gibson, Royal Ivey, Oliver Lafayette, Gary Neal, Ramon Sessions, or Ben Uzoh.
#1 was Frank Robinson from Cal State Fullerton...he played in the D-League last year including time with the Maine Red Claws. I read online that he signed with a team in Israel this season, and that team will be scrimmaging the Nets in preseason.
Yes Tony Lee played at Charlestown High then Robert Morris. He is Robert Morris all time leading rebounder despite being a 6'0 guard. He's a pitbull! I heard he has been playing in Poland.
Antonio Anderson (Anthony's brother) looked really good and knocked down a huge three pointer to seal the win. He also shut down Demetrius Nichols in the final which was huge because Nichols had been scorching everyone else the whole tournament.
Marc Egerson from Georgetown was there playing with the Millrats. He was a teammate of Doc's son as a Hoya.
