Celtics Rumored to be Playing in Streetball Tournament in Boston

There are several Celtics rumored to be playing in this tournament including JR Giddens, Bill Walker, and possibly Rondo.  Big Baby played last year.

On other teams Courtney Sims (Knicks), Marcus Banks, Will Blalock (Pistons), Demetrius Nichols (Bulls), Craig Smith (Clippers), Jared Dudley (Suns), Sean Williams (Nets), Desmond Ferguson (Trailblazers), Travis Best are rumored to be playing as well as NBA hopefuls Jeff Adrien and Tyrese Rice.

well Big Baby played last year and his team lost in the Finals.  Those are the names I'm hearing are on rosters but I can't guarantee it because no one knows until the day of the games.

there is also major other local pro talent (minor league & overseas) going to be there like Tony Lee (Robert Morris), Steve Hailey (BC), Anthony Anderson (UMass), Lonnie Harrell (And1 & Northeastern), Scott Hazelton (UConn/Uri), Shannon Crooks & Monte Mack (UMass), and Mike Crotty (Williams)...

the rumor is that JR & Bill Walker are on Big Baby's team that he played on last year.

I just saw a bunch of these players at the tournament in Lynn last weekend.

I'm going to try to make it for Sunday to check it out.

Is Baby going to play though without a contract? He didnt play for Team USA to avoid injury, I bet just JR and Billy play if thats the case.

Definitely check this out if you get a chance. It's quality players playing hard for their reputations and in this case $10,000.

If I was the Celtics owners or Danny Ainge, I would be on the phone with all of the rumored Celtics that are playing in this and saying "you better stay the heck away from this tournament because if you get hurt we will void your contract" or something along those lines.

If I was an employer paying the huge salaries these guys get, I would not let them come close to this event.

Paul and baron also play in the tournament they kept going for magic.

Kobe and paul play pick up games in cali all summer with each other (this was referenced numerous times during the finals as a storyline, as both admitted that the year before they had a bet on who would be traded first.)
