The Celtics have a $1 million Qualifying Offer out to Davis, so it's not like he'll be without a job, but like most restricted free agents his camp is finding the market extremely tough to get a deal.

$2.5M/year for 4 years?  That is a bit underwhelming for Davis (given some of the rumored interest), but a good deal for the Cs.  No complaints from me if that deal gets done.

Yep, I don't believe any news coming from Hoopsworld. But it would be good for the Celtics if a 4 year/$10M contract could be signed with Big Baby. Hopefully Hoopsworld is right this time... but I know it's bogus news, once again. ::)

Haha, yeah, I noticed that.  I'm sure where they got this "rumor" was by taking the basics of the story reported yesterday on WEEI, and making up facts from there.

He went into FA hoping for a full MLE deal though by all reports. Maybe he expected less in the end but I'd imagine he's pretty annoyed at the lack of firm offers.

Don't we have enough frontcourt depth at this point? We REALLY need some wings. We need to sign and trade him for something.

I guess signing him for $2.5 would make him super tradeable.

  Daniels, House, Giddens, Walker and TA for Backup wings, Rasheed and Williams and Scal for backup bigs.
