CFF nice writeup, I really like your squad .  I think its a contender in your division.

A few questions.

1.  Do you feel Chandler can play 30 minutes a night?  What happens if he can't and S. Swift or Mohammad has to play bigger minutes?

2.  In general how strong do you feel about your bench playing bigger minutes due to injury or foul trouble, most notably at the point guard and post spots?

3. Who do you think are the toughest challengers in your division/conference?

1. There's no doubt in my mind Chandler can handle 30 mpg. And if he can't, I am very confident in our back-ups.

2. I think our bench is very solid. As far as the point and post, I think Livingston will surprise many and Mohammed can still play a lot of minutes.

3. Our biggest rivalry will obviously be with Chicago. I feel like it will be a 2 man race in the Central with Detroit and Chicago. Outside of the division, the only teams I think can compete with us are Toronto and Orlando.

Ok I will be checking in through the day to answer questions. I think the Central is often overlooked, b/c we don't have as many vocal owners but I believe that a majority of the 2009/2010 Eastern Conference All-Stars will be coming from this division. There are no pushovers in this division. I think all 5 GM's have done a solid job.

JohnnyRondo nice squad.  Nice writeup as well.

Only question I really have for you is about your bench. I feel there is a huge concern there.  Jason Williams may or may not sign with a team this year, Stevenson may not be fully recovered from back surgery, and most of the others are really inexperienced/rookies. (I really like Anderson btw) Do you feel as worried about your bench as I am? I also think your starters will have to take on heavy minutes in order to fight for a top seed.

Like a few other teams, you have 3-4 great players and a thin bench.  Looking at this from a real life stand point which is what we will end up judging this on later down the line, rather than an NBA 2k9 assembled team, I think that your team is going to be fatigued come the 2nd round of the playoffs.  Any argument against that statement?  I love your starters, but your bench outside of Anderson and Bogans has a lot of questions to be answered.

Thank you for the questions. I'm actually not that concerned with the bench. With CP3, you obviously don't need a great back-up. Jason Williams just worked out with the Knicks and is said to be in great shape. Between J-Will will be a fine back-up.

Deshawn is said to be healthy, but having Bogans is insurnace on that.

Anderson and Armstrong were both part time starters last year and fit our system great.

I was looking at the top 20 rookies from last year and I'm a little surprised fans have so little faith in rookies. While we don't need to play them, I think we will be involved in quite a few blowouts and I think Buddinger (at the 2/3) and Johnson (at the 3/4) will be impressive this year.

Looking at the previous two champions:
The Lakers had Odom off the bench and one of Farmar or Brown.
Odom is obviously better than any one big on our bench, but they need him more, b/c Bynum is more of a question mark toughness and health-wise compared to Horford. Also Odom is really their third best player. It would be like if we started Deshawn and had Kevin Martin off the bench.

The Celtics sacrificed a lot to get the Big 3. They went into the season with a 2nd yr point guard and an oft injured young center. They're backup bigs were an undersized part time backup 2nd yr player and House as the backup pg, as well as Posey coming off an off yr. We don't have those question markis in our starting lineup.

Minutes will not be a problem. Look for Paul's, Gasol's, and Martin's regular season minutes to go all down from last season's averages. Obviously in the playoffs teams shorten their rotations and play their starters more. If needed, we can do that, b/c our big 3 and then Horford as well are all still in their 20's. We expect our first and second round series to each be done in 4 to 5 games, and even if one goes 6, our stars will be well rested come the ECF and WCF. It will be hard to get CP3 off the court then. He wants that ring so bad.

Thanks again for the questions. Hope I answered them all.

Minutes won't be a problem. I expect CP3, Gasol, and

Oh I forgot to answer your NBA2k question. We really like that with are team the parts fit. It's not just a bunch of sudo stars and other players thrown together. We turned down several trades for large character risks or immobile bigs. I think there are some NBA2k teams in our league, and I think in reality those teams would fair poorly.

Nice job Chicago and Detroit on getting a nice core of guys, you guys are definitely tops of your division, although I give the nod to Chicago.

Being said you guys have a nice core, come playoff time do you think your downfalls will be our benches, while Chicago you have nice starting five, your bench is one of the weakest in the league, I know you've stated that the whole bench won't be in at the same time but don't you think your team might be fatigued come playoffs, and what other strategies will you employ to combat this?

As for Detroit I think you are in a very similar boat as you have a good starting five but your bench seems lacking as well (Carney is a nice young guy).  A lot of your bench hasn't produced much in the past.  Are you also concerned about fatigue, especially concerning the back up bigs.  What type of strategies are you going to employ to overcome this weakness?

Detroit, What concerns do you have about a young player in OJ coming from a team where he was allowed free reign with the offense and was a bit of a chucker, coming into a team where he isnt necessarily the primary option on offense?

Questions for Chicago:

1)  What is the key difference between your teams and the "real life" Hornets, which have been based around Chris Paul, a dominant big man (West), and a great scoring wing (Peja).  This team, when healthy, has not made it to the Western Conference Finals; why will your team fare better?

2) Pau Gasol has missed 16+ games in two of the last three seasons, Kevin Martin missed 31 games last season and 21 games the season before, Raja Bell missed 16 games, Al Horford missed 15, Keith Bogans missed 17 games (and 23 three years ago) and DeShawn Stevenson is coming off a serious back injury that caused him to miss 50 games.  Jason Williams, of course, was out of the league.

Three part question:  a) Is your team durable enough to hold up during the regular season; b) if one of your top three misses significant time, can you make the playoffs; and c) with the team's durability questions and a weak bench, is a running style the best system for your guys?

3) I really liked your team early in the draft process.  The additions of Pau and CP3 were very good ones, and I think you did well in your trade of Big Al to IP.  After that, though, I found some of your moves to be questionable. Can you explain the series of moves that turned Tayshaun Prince, Wilson Chandler, Rudy Fernandez, George Hill and multiple draft picks into, basically, Kevin Martin and Ryan Anderson?  Wouldn't you have been better off keeping the original players?

4) How does your team compare to other good teams in your conference, specifically Toronto, Boston, Philly, Detroit, Orlando, and Washington?

Detroit: Are you worried that the OJ and Rudy combo on the withat didn't work for Memphis last year (because both of them need the ball) will not work for you? And as a branch off that, how concerned are you that with players who need a high volume of touches on the wing, that Amar'e will feel left out of games and quit?

Questions for Detroit:

1) Rudy Gay and O.J. Mayo didn't mesh very well in "real life"; why will they be better on your team?

2) What type of offense do you intend to run?

3) I liked the vast majority of your moves, but hated this trade:

Quote
Detroit: Mo Williams, Wilson Chandler, Rudy Fernandez, DJ White

Memphis: Rudy Gay, Mo Evans, JJ Barea

Can you explain your reasoning?  From an outside perspective, it seems like the upgrade from Chandler to Gay doesn't justify moving Williams or Fernandez.

4) Does your team have the experience necessary for a deep playoff run?

This question is for Detroit. The last thre championship winners being Boston, LA, and SA have all had DOMINANT fan bases.  How do you plan on overcoming the current economic problems in your city and making sure the seats are filled to give you a chance at the title?

CB Draft Bucks: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tobias Harris, Zach LaVine, Aaron Afflalo, Jeff Green, Donatas Motiejunas, Jarrett Jack, Frank Kaminsky, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, Shane Larkin, Nick Young

DKC Bucks. Also terrible.
