Here I am, working the phones, in one ear I'm trying to find out if Arenas is pretty solid, the other ear I'm confirming that Igoudala is kinda nasty, and the payoff is 10 tp's?

Well, 10 TPs off for not listing the bench and 80 TPs off for being 12 seconds late.

We'll have to agree to disagree. But personally, I think the only honerable move to make would be to either a. issue me 1,000 TP's and a hand written apology or b. take your name out of the 'team of the future race'

Bulls Press Conference

The New Bulls Dynasty

Bulls Starting Line-Up
   22.8ppg 11apg 2.8spg 5.5rpg Chris Paul
Scouting Report: CP3 is our leader. He's the guy who gets our offense going, pushes the pace, and leads our defense. He is an MVP candidate and a great superstar to build around.
   18.9ppg 9.6rpg 1.0bpg  Pau Gasol
Scouting Report: Pau is a player who led Memphis teams rather single handly into the playoffs, and while he'd make a great #1 guy on some teams in our league, we have the luxury of him being our #2. As has been seen in L.A.  As a #2 Pau has brought his team to the championship round twice, winning it once.
24.6ppg 2.7apg .42 3pt%  Kevin Martin
Scouting Report: Kevin Martin is an underrated star who will now shine playing with CP3 and Pau  He has been stuck with no supporting cast in Sacramento and now will really shine in Chicago. Martin should put up huge numbers teaming in the backcourt with Chris Paul.

11.5ppg 9.3rpg 1.4bpg Al Horford
Scouting Report: Al Horford is a winner who led Florida to a title and as a rookie broke Atlanta's streak of missing the playoffs. Horford is a beast on the boards and a tough center who will thrive in our running game. His numbers should go up playing with a true point guard now. Horford would make a solid sidekick for a team, but on the Bulls he will have the luxury of being our 4th guy. Expect three alley-oop dunks a game.
     11.9ppg  3.6rpg  .42 3pt% Raja Bell
Scouting Report: Raja is a great glue guy and a winner. After being traded to Charlotte, the Bobcats had a solid record and would have made the playoffs if he had been there all season. His numbers actually went up from previous years in Phoenix. He is a great glue guy and is familiar with the running style we will have.

Reserves
Ryan Anderson
Scouting Report: Ryan Anderson started 30 games as a rookie, but we have the luxury of bringing him off the bench. We really like that Anderson will bring defenders out to the 3pt stripe due to his great range, leaving the post even more open for CP3
Deshawn Stevenson
Scouting Report: Deshawn is another starter that we have the luxury of bringing off the bench. Known for his defense, Deshawn struggled last year playing through back problems. Now healthy, he will be a big asset off the bench.

  Hilton Armstrong
Scouting Report: Hilton Armstrong is a long center that loves the running game. He started 29 games with CP3 last year, but on the Bulls will be a reserve Center, behind Horford and Pau.

Jason Williams
Scouting Report: Jason Williams returns in a reduced role. The former World Champion point guard will only be needed for minor minutes as Paul's back-up. Williams loves to run and has turned himself into one of the best assist to turnover pg's in the league.

Keith Bogans
Scouting Report: Keith Bogans started 15 games last year for Orlando, but on the Bulls will have a reserve role. Bogans plays solid defense and can hit the three

James Johnson
Scouting report: James Johnson the 16th pick in this yr's draft is a powerful SF/PF. He gives us a big 3 off the bench. He has a long wingspan and based on his summer league rave reviews will be hard to keep on the bench.

Javaris Crittendon
Scouting Report: Super athletic Javaris will help playing spot duty as needed. Javaris is a great luxury as a 3rd string point guard.

Chase Buddinger
Scouting Report: As is the case every year, someone falls to the second round and turns out to play well as a rookie. Buddinger based on his shot and athleticm has a shot to get minutes at the backup wing this yr.

Austin Daye
Scouting Report: Austin Daye the 15th pick in this year's draft impressed this Summer for detroit, but we don't expect to need him much this year. He projects to be a smooth shooting starting wing eventually.

Chris Mihm
Scouting Report: Chris Mihm is a veteran center who will provide roster depth. Not expected to be needed for minutes, he can serve as a spot reserve if there is an injury.

Statement regarding drafting philosophy:  Mainly took the best player available and kept them if we felt they would fit well in our ubuntu running gunning defensive team. Was able to trade some player assets for huge returns. Somehow ended up with three first rounders with one being Chris Paul, and a 2nd rounder. Filled out the roster with glue guys and a deep bench, consisting of veterans that have started on other teams and two rookies that can step in now.

Toughest decision: To pay the price it cost to get a top 4 pick to get an MVP type leader

Best move: Trading for a first round pick, picking Al Jefferson and then trading him for Al Horford and picks which we later turned into Kevin Martin and Raja Bell

Your outlook for this coming season
: Expecting to be NBA champions. No offense to the other solid teams, but we feel like we're the favorite (Ask Wyc what he thinks of the real C's?)We look at ourselves like the Suns team that would have won if not for Robert Horry's dirtiness, but with two huge additions. Instead of a huge defensive liability at the point, we have an elite point guard defender and instead of a center that doesn't like to mix it up on defense, we have a warrior there. Showtime in Chi-Town. To win a title you need an MVP candidate, which we have. We expect him to follow in the footsteps of Tony Parker and Chauncey Billups and pick up Finals MVP this yr for the Bulls. He's not that concerned with Regular Season MVP, since he expects us to have 3 or 4 All-Stars. CP3, like KG two years ago just wants to win the ring. Unlike 1 man teams we have an amazing 2nd star in Pau Gasol and 3rd star in Kevin Martin. Chris Paul will also make Horford a consideration for an Eastern Conference center all-star spot.

We have winners, good character guys, and great coaches. Doc knows how to do the ubuntu thing and Dick Harter was credited with the Knicks 90's defense and improving the C's defense to the point that Tione and Pierce almost got to the Finals. Bird also credited Harter with being a huge reason the Pacers made the Finals and Tom Thibs is a Harter disciple. We don't think you'll see a team for a while that has the offensive game these Bulls have, but go at it on defense with such effort.

CP3 made the WCF with just a solid young big. Now he has another solid young big AND Pau Gasol AND Kevin Martin amazingly. We should get out to large leads and we have the luxury of taking an MVP candidate CP3 and a player that should become an allstar with CP3, Al Horford out of the game and still having a 25 point scorer in Kevin Martin and a 20 point post scorer in Pau Gasol in the game.  When we take them out, back in comes a fresh CP3 and Horford and we run like crazy. Paul has many three point threats in addition to Kevin Martin. He has Raja, Bogans, Stevenson, Anderson, and Buddinger as well. We are a TEAM, not just one guy. All our bench guys will get to play with stars (except in garbage time in blowout wins).

Our stars are still in their primes. Our team is not too young, but not too old. Just like how KG made other C's better in real life and Steve Nash with the Suns, we expect CP3 to do the same here. Our offense will be pretty much unstoppaBULL for 48 minutes.

Yes the team is confident as winners need to be. We are expecting a dynasty. There are no guarantees. Just like in the real NBA, you need health to win. In this league you need popularity, so you never know how voters will go.  Some might be bitter or some might have a strong affection to another GM. It's an unknown. We can only be hopeful on the results, but Celticsblog is full of many knowledgeable fans, so we're cautiously optimistic. Overall though, we feel a dynasty has been built and we're excited to get running. We'd like to thanks the many GM's who we have corresponded with for many hours these past few weeks. I feel like friendships and mutual admirations (not a word, but people know what I mean) have been made. Much respect for all GM's and the work they put into this. We're some crazy bball fans to waste devote so much time to this draft.

All losers, I know. But if you can't build your team around a 7 ft player from the Congo then what can you build around? Amare? Please,

Ah, Brian Scalabrine...the contract too strange to live, too weird to expire.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN YOUR DEEEEEETROOITTTT PISTONSSSSSSSSSS

Tyson Chandler

At center, the 7'1 26 year old provides a good defensive anchor for our team. His size and large wingspan allow him to block shots and rebound at will. He can finish at the basket as well.

08-09 stats: 8.8 ppg 8.7 rpg 1.2 bpg.

Chandler didnt play as well last year as the previous few years due to injury, but we are confident he will play up to his 07-08 numbers this year. (11.8 ppg, 11.7 rpg, 62.3 fg %)

Amare Stoudemire

The 6'10 26 year old is a complete monster on the floor. While many have questioned his defense, he is very quick and is able to come up with many blocks and steals. What's most impressive about Amare is his offense game. He can post up and hit a pretty consistent mid-range jumper. The guy is absolutely unstoppable, and the Pistons are happy to build a team around him.

Amare missed some games last year due to an eye injury, but he is ready to come back strong.

08-09 stats: 21.4 ppg 8.1 rpg.

Like Chandler, his numbers from 07-08 were better in a full season (25.2 ppg, 9.1 rpg, 2.0 bpg)

We are very happy with our two starting bigs, and think Chandler's inside game and great defense will work well with Amare's outside ability.

Rudy Gay

At 6'8, the 22 year old gives us our SF for both the present and future. Gay is a very tough player to guard, due to his quickness, driving ability, and solid shooting touch. Rudy's athleticism and size will allow him to drive the lane, and dish to Amare and Chandler for easy dunks. His athleticism and long arms will also help him on the defensive end, giving him many steals and blocks.

08-09 stats: 18.9 ppg, 5.5 rpg

OJ Mayo

At 21 years old and 6'4, this SG fits perfectly into our system. With Chandler banging down low, Amare both inside and out, and Gay driving the lane, we knew we needed a shooter. That is what Mayo brings to the table. Not only does he possess a deadly shot, but he can also drive and finish at the rim. OJ is also a very underrated perimeter defender, and can come up with some steals. The Pistons also feel that after a tremendous rookie season, OJ has the tools to be a superstar in the league very soon.

08-09 stats: 18.5 ppg, 3.2 apg, 1.1 spg

Earl Watson

The 6'1 30 year old is the perfect veteran PG to lead this team. Many will underrate him, and say he is not a starter on a championship team. Many will look at his 08-09 stats and say those aren't starting statistics. However, if you compare his 07-08 stats with his 08-09 stats, you'll see just how much better he is when he starts. Watson is exactly what we need on this team, a distributor. In 07-08 he averaged 6.8 apg in only 29 minutes. He proved he was capable of being a solid mid-range jump shooter and on-ball defender as well. The knock on Watson once again is his play from last year, which shouldn't be judged since he was uncomfortable coming off the bench. As a starter, expect to see more of what he did in 07-08

07-08 stats: 10.7 ppg 6.8 apg 45% fg

So with that, our starters are:

C: Tyson Chandler, 26
PF: Amare Stoudemire, 26
SF: Rudy Gay, 22
SG: OJ Mayo, 21
PG: Earl Watson, 30

Our "big 4" with Chandler, Stoudemire, Gay, and Mayo is clearly one of the best in the league. They also are young enough as well as experienced enough to make a run for many titles in the upcoming years. Watson will get criticized for not being a superstar point guard. But when you have 3 guys that can put up 20 points whenever they want and a big defensive guy in the middle, you need someone to get them the ball. That is exactly what Earl Watson is here to do.

BENCH:

Center: Nazr Mohammed

At 6'10, the 31 year-old veteran can give us plenty of solid minutes at both big man spots. He didn't get much playing time last year, but in 07-08 he played starters minutes and was a 9ppg 7rpg guy.

Power Forward: Eduardo Najera

The 33 year old 6'8 veteran will play some PF and SF off the bench. We love his energy, toughness, and hustle. Najera can bang in the paint and can also hit the occasional jumper. He's going to be our workhorse off the bench

Small Forward: Rodney Carney

At 25 years old, the 6'7 SF is becoming a very solid player in the league. He is very athletic, and is capable of coming up with blocks and steals as well as finishing at the rim. He needs to work on developing more of an outside shot, which is what the Pistons intend to work on with him. Carney is still a bit of a work in progress, but we love his potential.

Shooting Guard: Maurice Evans

The 6'5 30 year old will be a major asset to our bench. He can hit the 3 with consistency, as well as drive to the hoop and finish. He is very athletic and a good defender. His playoff experience and leadership will be huge on this young team.

Point Guard: Shaun Livingston

At 6'7, the 23 year old has tremendous height for a point guard. The Pistons were very happy to acquire him as a back-up point guard, with Marbury's status up in the air  ::)
Livingston suffered a terrible knee injury a while back, but showed in limited games last year that he came back strong and was ready to perform. Livingston can handle and pass very well, but has not reached his full potential. He knows he has something to prove, which is why he will elevate his game while on the Pistons.

The rest: Robert Swift, Stromile Swift, Dorrell Wright, Juan Dixon, Stephon Marbury

As for the final 2 active roster spots, they will go to Stromile Swift and the severely underrated Juan Dixon. Swift will be our 5th big man, and his athleticism/shot blocking/rebounding will be huge off the bench. As for Dixon, he has proven throughout his career that he is a solid guy off the bench. We will use him as both a PG and SG.

Robert Swift: will spend some time developing still. Danny hasn't given up on him and neither will the Pistons

Dorrell Wright: Showed some signs in Miami. If he plays well in the D-League, a spot in the rotation isnt out of the question.

Stephon Marbury: Ummmmm....yea...... about that.  ;D At least our team has some personality.  ;D
Worst case scenario: Bad locker room presence, cut immediately
Best case scenario: Comes to training camp in shape, cracks the rotation.

Rotation:

C: Chandler 32 mpg, Mohammed 12 mpg, Stoudemire 4 mpg
PF: Stoudemire 30 mpg, Najera 11 mpg, Mohammed 5 mpg S.Swift 2 mpg
SF: Gay 34 mpg, Carney 10 mpg, Evans 3 mpg, Najera 1 mpg
SG: Mayo 30 mpg, Evans 16 mpg, Dixon 2 mpg
PG: Watson 29 mpg, Mayo 5 mpg, Livingston 12 mpg, Dixon 2 mpg

Total:

Chandler 32 mpg
Stoudemire: 34 mpg
Gay: 34 mpg
Mayo: 35 mpg
Watson: 29 mpg
Evans: 19 mpg
Mohammed: 17 mpg
Najera: 12 mpg
Livingston: 12 mpg
Carney: 10 mpg
Dixon: 4 mpg
Swift: 2 mpg

The Pistons are a team that can no doubt fight for a championship now and in the future.

Feel free to ask any questions

No.

I think he is wondering why anyone else is needed to be added.
