As much as I know that house is not a pg, I think at this point I prefer him there more than any of our other options. He was servicable two years ago and should be again. The other part of it is that I do not like a mighty mite back court with him at the two. Just too small in my opinion. And if Marquis and Allen and pp have to help so be it.

I sounds like Danny sees Marquis Daniels as a point guard, or at least as a primary ball handler:

Yep, I could see House as third-string PG again, and if Hudson looks okay, he could be developed between Maine and Boston for House's spot next year.

With House, you don't need another PG with him. You simply need someone to take care of the ball handling. Of course, one would preffer a real PG... but with most PGs being quite small, there's hardly anyone that would match-up well with House.

A SG/SF that can take those responsabilities away is the option that's easier to find. And Daniels looks to fit the bill.

Abscent of that, I would've kept Pruitt here instead of looking for another PG who lacks size just because he would've been a better PG.

House will still be the third string PG and guard the PGs with the second unit, Becuase of Daniels controlling the ball.

I'm super excited for Our House, RAllen, Daniels lineup. We did this last year (House,Marbury,RAllen) but it was a little bit to small. This can be effective both offensively and defensively.

I think we will do just fine if we can sign Bowen as an extra wing player. A back court bench of House, Daniels and Bowen should be plenty.

Of course, if they can nab someone like Carter for insurance, that'd be even better. But I don't think it makes sense to sign another guard who's primarily known as a shooter, be it Lue, Lofton, or someone else.

House is a better backup pg than Pruitt because House is a viable NBA player. Shaq is a better backup pg for the same reason.

That would be great news.

The worst thing they could do to the bench now is give House 15-20 minutes as a two guard.

Sometimes I think the things GMs say are hillarious. We like Gabe. Not enough for him to play or anything, but we like him.

I wanted Marbury back, but with the small role he'd play here, I don't think it's prudent to have a full season of him.

Anyone want to bet he brings in a vet PG after the trade deadline, again?

As of right now, House is our backup PG because that's what position he is going to defend. Picking up Daniels will allow Eddie to play off the ball on offense, while Daniels does most of the ball handling. I expect Rasheed Wallace will see a lot of touches from the high and low post, taking a lot of pressure off our back court to run the offense. Walker and BBD will be energy guys off the bench.

Perk/Sheed
KG/Baby
Pierce/Walker
Allen/Daniels
Rondo/House

That 10 man rotation will win us Banner 18 this year. DA just needs to get Baby and Daniels under contract. Scal will take the 11th spot and TA/Giddens will fight it out for the last active roster spot.

I agree.  No way he's satisfied with Daniels as the backup pg.

Ditto.

The real thing with Eddie for me is just to free him up so he plays off the ball and can run past screens. This is where he is a lethal weapon offensively, not when he is the primary ball handler and facilitator.

This becomes a pain in the butt for us because it means we need big PG (or at least a decent ballhandler) who can cover wing players and we dont have one. Gabe Pruitt had his shot at that role as did Tony Allen. Both as we know were failed experiments. Marbury just isnt the answer for me.

If Daniels can even partially do it, we are back in a happy place this season. I still see a PG/ball handler acquisition in our future, hopefully in preseason.
