then just sign daniels without the sign and trade...cut gabe august first, bury tony on the bench until later when you can use his expiring contract and move on

Not a bad idea with $7 mill. in expiring contracts to move at the deadline, we probably could get a very good player, like Nocioni or maybe even Shane Battier.

To Boston: Marquis Daniels, Keyon Dooling, and Trenton Hassell
To New Jersey: Glen Davis, Tony Allen, and Brian Scalabrine
To Indiana: Jarvis Hayes, Bill Walker, and Gabe Pruitt

By adding the expiring contracts of Hassell and Scalabrine, you balance out the BYC rules that negatively impact NJ.

Indiana gets a decent backup SF and a good young player in Walker plus they can get rid of Pruitt.

but the C's can get daniels and drop Pruitt anyway.  Expiring TA and Veal contracts should be able to get more than Dooling and Hassell.  C's are losing 2 guys that can play PF in BBD and Veal and not getting any size back in the deal.  They also lose a guy with potential in Walker.

Not a great trade for the C's by any means

Change Trenton Hassell to Eduardo Najera and I'd do it. Hassell is a good defender but has no range. How about

Boston Gets MDaniels, Dooling and Sean Williams
NJ gets BBD(5mil) and Tony Allen
Indy gets NJs trade exception(3.7mil)and Giddens or BWalker
Can't stop, Rondo!

Like it or not, TA and Veal have negative value UNLESS you are taking an unreasonable long term contract in return.  Sure, we could take back a deplorable contract like Nocioni offering up Scalabrine, Allen, Walker, and Pruitt .. but I want no part of that ugly contract. I don't want Najera's contract either if that makes you feel any better.

If I were to rate the best players in the deal, I'd go:
1. Marquis Daniels
2. Glenn Davis
3. Keyon Dooling
4. Bill Walker

The rest of the players in the package really don't offer much.

Maybe you could rotate the deal to this:

To Boston: Marquis Daniels and Keyon Dooling
To NJ Nets: Glenn Davis and Tony Allen
To Indy: Jarvis Hayes, Chris Douglas Roberts, and Gabe Pruitt

I do either deal and feel the value placed on Veal and TA is inflated.

Count me in. That would actually make a lot of sense for all parties involved.

Ugh people still want Williams? I don't want that head case near our team.

Here's another update:

He basically mentions everything what was reported by the Herald, but adds on his Twitter page that they will go after Luther Head if they can't get any of Boston's young prospects.

they probably do a deal like BBD, SCal and TA to NJ giving them two expiring deals plus bbd,  Indy gets Dooling and We would get Yi, Daniels, Najera and Williams.

This will allow us to use our LLE to sign a point like Marbury and opens a roster spot to bring back Powe.

Rondo  Marbury
Allen   House  Giddens
Pierce   Daniels   Walker
Garnett   Yi    Najera   Powe
Perkins  Sheed  Williams

Wouldn't this be the ideal situation for the Celtics. Get rid of Scal & Tony, get Williams & Yi, and keep JR & Bill. Wishful thinking, but not happening. For this to work, Danny has a lot of convincing to do. Work your magic Danny.

I'd rather have Walker OR Giddens than Scal at his current salary.
