No one looks intimidating in a white suit:

who cares about looks? 20.9 pts / 5.9 reb / 5.5 asst as a 19 year old rookie set the floor.... he's just gotten better & better.

And really? Roids? did your 19 y.o. body look anything like your 24 y.o. body?

Here's a tiebreaker solution

When stating the winner of the series state how the series ended. Example:

Was/NJN - Buffalo 4-3

If there is a tie then the tiebreaker is that the total amount of games won is counted.

Example after voting of 3-3

Washington 4  New Jersey 3   voter ABD
Washington 4  New Jersey 2   voter CDE
Washington 4  New Jersey 3   voter FGH
Washington 2  New Jersey 4   voter IJK
Washington 1  New Jersey 4   voter LMN
Washington 2  New Jersey 4   voter OPQ

Washington 17 New Jersey 18   Total

Winner:  New Jersey

In this system, we aren't just looking for a clarification of the vote or hoping more people vote or that someone misses the vote the second time around or that people change their vote, which could call into question their reasonings.

Let the numbers determine it

Jurys discuss then revote all the time. I'd say rather than be bitter about it, change someone's mind.

(I'm not saying you're bitter, I'm saying if I were a gm in a runoff, I would just look through the posts and try to find someone who was on the fence. Someone who said something like "Really really close, had a hard time picking a winner, obviously a 7 game series with multiple over times" and go after that vote while there is still time.

Or don't and just sit back and see what happens.

But wouldn't removing some of the subjectivity of the game in tiebreakers be a good thing?

A second vote hours after the first one ended?

I think an overwhelming consensus would be that no one is going to be able to be convinced to change their mind through arguments just hours later.

Unless, like in the runoff for the East seedings, the criteria is changed and it's, just vote for the team you think is better, which, if we want to remain consistent, is what happened there. Then I could see where people might change their mind because some might have voted a team to win a series because of match ups but think that overall the other team is better and would be the winner against most other opponents.

So since my competitor hasnt been determined for tomorrow, I will post both of my statements(I did research on both teams, work was slow today) around 10 PM tonight.  I just wanna say that I completely respect both of my projected opponents and think it is going to be a great matchup either way.  Even though I do believe I had the edge in both matches, both were alot closer than I would like so I can see these going either way.  Although I hope they go my way!

Here's the thing though Rondo. I think you lose to one of those teams and beat the other, so this is going to make the difference in my vote tomorrow.

OK Guys nvm.  Here is a look at my series with Philly. I really like this matchup for Toronto.  I think the pointguard matchup is remarkably even .  Kwhit takes down the SG matchup but its not really a huge win.  I think my biggest win in the series is that Artest has always been able to neutralize Carmelo.  He has a winning record against melo, Artest lowers everyone of melo's offensive stats, as I describe below.

When we move to the frontcourt, KG has a pretty sizeable advantage scoring against OKafor.  As well as assists and fg%.  Camby has also been very effective against Bynum both in scoring and assists, but the biggest advantage for us in on the glass where Camby has a plus 8 rebound margin.  And when the big men are tired, I dont think Joe smith can match Big Z and Warrick.

Miller Vs Baron Davis(24 Games)Davis leads 13-11
Miller :16 ppg, 4.8 rb, 8.5 ass, 1.8 stl,
Davis: 16 ppg, 4.3 rb, 7.7 ass, 2.1 stl

Brewer vs Garcia(8 games) Brewer Leads 7-1
Garcia: 10.5 ppg, 3.1 rb, 1.9 ass, .5 stl
Brewer: 15.5 ppg, 4.5rb, 2.1 ass, 1.5 stl

Artest vs Mello(12 Games) Artest leads 7-5
Artest: 17.6 pts, 6.1 rb, 4.3 ass, 2.8 stls, 1.7 TO
Mello: 19.9 pts, 5.4 rb, 2.3 ass, .7 stls, 3.2 TO

Mellos Career stats vs Mellos Artest Stats
Career avg
PTS 24.2 -- FG% .460 -- 3P% .307 -- FTA 7.7 -- REB 6.1 -- AST 3.1 -- TOV 3.1

Artest Avg
PTS 19.9 -- FG% .411 -- 3P% .250 -- FTA 4.8 -- REB 5.4 -- AST 2.3 -- TOV 3.2

KG vs Okafor (10 Games) Garnett 6-4
Garnett: 21.4 pts, 12 Rb, 3.3 Ass, 1.5 blk, FG.525%
Okafor: 12.2 pts, 11 rb, .8 Ass, 1.5 blk, FG.462%

Bynum vs Camby(9 Games)Bynum 6-3
Camby: 10 pts, 14 rbs, 2ass, 2.7 BlK
Bynum: 7.9 pts, 6.6 Rbs, .9 ass, 2.2 Blk

The fact that I put my preview for philly first in now way means that I want them to win or anything like that.

Rebus, congratulations on the WC semis victory... You were a deserving winner and a class act as owner. The game could have used a couple more RebusRankins this year.

That said, I do have to vote Portland. The Brothers O'Neal will definitely body up Howard enough to keep him away from the basket in the halfcourt. No way the big guy can outmuscle Shaq on the block if O'Neal gets position first. The Crotornat depth is just too much IMO. If Howard doesn't dominate games, I don't see the rest of the team doing enough defensively to win.
"Let me call him," Floyd said.

The man shook his head. "O.J. doesn't give out his cell," he said. "He'll call you."
