I would like your team better if you started D.J. Augustin at PG and used Ellis as the scoring machine he is off the bench.
What will stop your team is your big man rotation. Love Bosh, but not as a C and biggest man on the team.
Your PFs are to much of an NBA unknown to win in voting.
I appreciate it. Here’s what I’d say in Houston’s defense. Starting three Top 30 NBA scorers presents serious challenges for opposing defenses. (Is Houston alone in doing so? I’d be thrilled. But I’m not sure?) Ellis is our penetrator; a menace in the open court, and like Bosh, he gets to the line a lot. (To counter both real and perceived frontcourt disadvantages Houston wants to get opposing big men into foul trouble early and often.)
I am high on Augustin, especially as a 7th round pick, and love having a more traditional point guard to go to, off the bench. And I agree he can be an NBA starter.
I’ll continue to make my case for my frontcourt rotation. But I’ll keep it short here, and just point out that David Andersen is the “biggest man on the team.” Bosh is third, or could be counted fourth if we include DeJuan Blair's power per pound in the discussion. And I wonder if you counted Nocioni among my front court players, he splits his time evenly among the 3 and 4? (And, get this, also Center in his time in Sacramento last season, although even the Rockets aren’t that desperate).
I’d also love to know if a full recovery by Powe in time for the playoffs would change Denver’s mind much? I’m optimistic, but admit it’s far from guaranteed. He would give us the playoff-tested low post scorer we otherwise lack.
