I also have Tim Thomas to play at PF that can space things out as well, he can hit the 3 ball.  Also Nick was correct in saying the Joe Smith will probably never guard Big Z.  Bynum or Okafor will be in the game at all times.

Actually if it's Smith and Okafor verse Garnett and Z, I might keep Smith on Z.  Z has better numbers of course but he plays more minutes.  If Okafor bothers KG that much I'd rather keep him on him.

Ya thats what I was thinking.  because people here were telling me if Smith ever guards Z he would change his vote.  So i dunno.  either way i think we have a really close matchup, but you seemed really sold on okafor on KG so I wouldnt think you would want to change him off.

I ask because Z has done really well against both in their careers.

Z: 18pts, 6.4 rbs, 2 blks
Bynum: 10.3 pts, 4.3rbs, 1 blk

and I already put down the Z vs smith stats.

And warrick and smiths matchups

Warrick: 14 points, 4.4 rbs, .3 ass
Smith: 9 points, 5 rbs. .8 ass

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
What are bynum's stats against big z in the past 2 seasons (when he's been a good player)

So you really think you have any idea how big z will play bynum now? I think that's a complete unknown

I'd say Bynum is the better player now, but Big Z will more easily adapt to his style of play, due to his experience...but stats between teh two couldn't be less relevant if you look at Bynum's last 2 seasons.

However I would think a rested Big Z will be more effective than an Andrew Bynum playing his first full season as a effective pro.

he started 50 games last season and got 14 and 8 in less than 30 mins..in 2007.2008 he got 25 games in as a starter and in almost 31 mins he went for 14 and 10

Health is his issue, but with big Z, camby and garnett all playing important roles on your team, I think you're kinda like a person in a glass house.

All three of those guys have been better health wise recently than Bynum though.  And the point was how do I think Big Z would do against Bynum and I think Z coming in off the bench drawing Bynum outside and being fresh is a huge advantage.  I cant think Bynum will want to be closing out on him all the time.  And again when he does play outside it again takes a shot blocker away from his strength.

You're betting that Bynum isn't that great, and none of your rotation bigs suffer large setbacks this season (which should be a huge concern between camby and big Z), which kwhit is betting that Garnett won't dominate Okafor, and Bynum can be consistently as good as his numbers say.

I'm leaning towards liking Philadelphia's bench over Toronto's..excepting Big Z, why am I wrong?

I mean all I can do is point out the multiple bench matchups that I believe I have the better end of.  And I really think Finleys championship experience is being discounted here.

Between All of his starters only one of them has played in the NBA Finals.  2 of mine have.  And then two more on my bench have.  While all but Garcia have have had playoff experience.

Between anthony parker, okafor, balkman, pargo, how many of them have played in meaningful games.  Let alone game 7 on the road with the finals on the line which would probably be what the series comes down too.

The fact that this matchup is so heavily contested right now i think points in the direction that my teams significant playoff experience will come into play in my favor.

Ok Guys I gotta leave work and have some stuff before I get home, not my usual 5 minute commute.  So I wish everybody here happy voting and I hope I changed some minds.  But again this is a great contest.  And I can see this thing going either way.  All the props in the world to Kwhitt for putting together a great team and helping make an all Atlantic final.
