My orientation starts August 10th, so in answer to your topic question...almost!
Anyway, advice? Sure. I can't guarantee the effectiveness of the advice, but I can try. Any specific questions? What is your situation?
The first basic piece of advice is to get your applications in soon. As quickly as you can. It's a looooong process, and the schools really take their time, but it can help your overall chances the sooner you complete your apps. And some parts take a while (transcript requests, etc.) especially if you had multiple schools.
Some other basic tips:
-Talk to your school's pre-med advisor. Get his or her help if needed. They often help with proofreading personal statements, which are an important part of the application (remember that EVERYONE applying to school has good grades and test scores; what sets you apart?)
-Some advisors also provide practice interviews. If so, I recommend doing one.
-Be persistent. Both in the short term and long term. In the short term, stay in regular contact with schools to which you have applied, especially after an interview. In the long term, know that this is what you want to do, and apply multiple times if necessary.
Anyway, I'd be happy to talk some more. You can "PM" me, or post here, but maybe some basics about your situation would be helpful in terms of specific advice. Where are you applying? Where are you now? Tests and grades? In undergrad school? grad school? working?
Good luck
