Is indeed the best Hoops team assembled:

Why?  Well, let's take a look.

Oscar Robertson - One of the top 3 Basketball players of all time, an argument can be made he's the best ever.  Five years combined, he averaged a triple double - averaged.  Top that.
Kareem Abdul Jabbar Simply one of the top 5 centers of all time.  His records and stats are too long to be written about here.
Basketball Jones The greatest animated basketball player ever.  Stands alone at the top of the world with his peers, coaches, world leaders and even the Beatles singing about him.  The best dribbler ever.
Martian Man Hunter Superman calls him the most powerful being on earth.  Plus... he has the power to transform himself into others such as .... Michael Jordan.  He also has telepathic powers, which is safe to assume that he's going to be getting into the head of any opponent trying to make a shot.
Genghis Khan  Think Bill Laimbeer & Charles Barkley on Red Bull.  Nobody is going to drive the lane on Genghis - the man is a ruthless defensive stopper.

Rounding off the team we have:  the determined and skilled Nelson Mandela (in his prime) & the character singlehandedly responsible for the Orlando Magic franchise, Mickey Mouse.

There you have it --- A starting 5 that will match up against any team out there.

C - Muhammad Ali - All around great athlete, sure to be useful in a fight. 

PF - Captain Marvel: Pretty much our only true force.  The man can do it all.

SF - Scooby Doo:  Tony Allen-like IQ on the court, but his many episodes spent with the Globetrotters have given him Meadowlark Lemon like ability.

SG - Harry Houdini - Known for his ability to break down any teams best "lock down" defense, Houdini puts Scalibrine to shame in the intangibles category.

PG - Ghandi - The ultimate facilitator.  His vast experience at fasting has made him the perfect leader of the Ultimators fast break.

Bench:

PG/G - Joe Strummer - Doesn't get much PT.  Tends to Clash with his teammates too much.

F - Paul Newman - Was cast for 60's precursor movie to "White Men Can't Jump" called "White Men Can Shoot Set Shots and Run Set Offenses"...Movie was never made.

Utility - MacGuyver - The guy does it all.  Plays all 5 positions well.  Good to have around when Marvel breaks the backboard.  Can create a new backboard within minutes using nothing but sweaty jockstraps and Gator Aid cups.

Scrub - Kaiser Soze - Sits on the end of the bench and makes stuff up.

Coach - Albert Einstein - Really great X's & O's kinda guy who also keeps things "relative" for the squad.
