If Minnesota was desperate for a SG, I'd have offered them Tony Allen for Smith.

LOL.  I think they got a better shooter.

no wants TA -- not just for what he lacks on the court, but for what they'd have to deal with off it.

Wow!

I'm actually impressed with Mike Dunleavy on this one.

At the end of the day, he turned Zach Randolph into a very solid back up PF in Smith and a servicable backup PG in Telfair.

Just two months ago that contract was 'undtradable' now they've acquired two assets in return. Nicely done.

Also, it definitely speaks volumes that Q-Rich has been traded three times since June 24.

He could have traded Randolph for a turd sandwich and it would have been a great trade, as long as the turd's contract was expiring.

Pretty meaningless trade.  Minny must have figured that Smith wasn't going to get any playing time with Love and Big Al in front of him, but I would have held onto those expiring contracts for something else rather than take on Q-Rich (who's got to be in my top three of least-favorite players, alongside Kobe and the aforementioned Z-Bo).

anyone else feel like the clippers might suprise some people this year? The motor on griffin should help revive b-diddy and the growth of thornton and gordon was evident by the end of last year.  a healthy kaman and camby is a pretty decent combo.

I think this is a solid move for the Wolves too. Quentin will help them at the wings... he's also an expiring contract. Also it opens some roster spots in case the Wolves see some young talent about which they can offer some 1 year deals etc. to fill some of their needs and improve their depth. Maybe help sign some of their free-agents like Carney.

With Al Jefferson, Kevin Love, Darius Songalia, Ethan Thomas... Craig Smith wouldn't have been of much use.

Telfair, well they have Flynn who they want to groom.

Madsen? Who cares.

Well, it's be a surprise.  There's individual talent at a lot of positions, but best-case it seems like it'll take a while for it all to gel.  Gordon should be their best player, but he's still young.  Griffin, obviously, is going to take at least a little while to get acclimated to the NBA game.  Is Baron going to take over and really be a leader here, or is this going to be another year of frustration that leads to his underperforming his talent?  Smith and Telfair aren't making a difference in terms of wins and losses.  Kaman and Camby - figure one or both of those guys is going to be traded, that doesn't encourage team-play.

It's just hard for me to see how the pieced fit together into a cohesive whole.

I feel left out, can't we trade for Q and re-trade him too?  Everyone else is doing it.

Why not?  I think the NBA should get together and make sure he is a part of every team this offseason.

HA! TP...I'd pay to see a Turd Sandwich press conference!

But, I do think both players have value for the Clippers. Between Griffin, Camby, and Smith it's gonna be tough to take it to the lane without a bruise on the arm and the ball in the third row.

And I think Telfair did a passable job in Minny. He should be able to spell Baron for 10-12 minutes a night without too many heart attacks...If Baron goes down and Bassy is your starting PG, that's a whole other story!

Haha.  TP.

Do you think players like Quentin eventually get how repulsive they are?  A few short seasons ago he seemed like a valuable member to a exciting Suns rotation.  Now he's one of the most undesirable players in the league.

Hold up a second. Wasn't Kahn's reasoning for drafting Flynn and Rubio that he felt they could play together?

If so then Telfair would be there in the 3 pg backcourt rotation

Is he now back peddling from that notion?

Kahn seems to be doing a worse job than McHale.

He will regret not getting Curry

But Rubio is in Spain - so that's not going to happen.

Telfair on the Clippers just seems perfect to me!
God he sucked.

Wow. Couldn't Minnesota have gotten more for Telfair and Smith?

QRich is a NBA player only in his own mind.

Because Telfair and Smith both suck that's why. Honestly, what do you expect for two players who are hardly NBA talents?

Smith, at the least, is a solid bench player.  Telfair - well, at least you could call him a serviceable backup.

Quentin Richardson is what?  A has-been SG that no team seems particularly excited to hold onto?

what has he done off the court lately?
