Cronkite died today at the age of `92.

An absolute television news legend.

I was listening XM's Grateful Dead station today and was surprised to hear that Walter Cronkite was a Dead Head of sorts and went to many shows.  Apparently he and Mickey Hart got to know each other while Mickey was doing the soundtrack for National Geographic documentary on whales that Walter was doing the narration for.

Here's Walter playing the drum on an Earth Day jam on the streets of NY a few years back.

In lieu of 60 minutes, CBS ran a 1 hour special on Cronkite -- it was amazing.

Mickey Hart was on it quite a bit.
