That, then, would be a fatal indictment of 82games. Tony Allen can't carry Daniels' jock.

Sure he can, for awhile before he turns it over.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Why do we want another point guard who can't shoot? we need someone who can give us a different look at the backup as opposed to someone who duplicates Rondo's weakness.

I think leaving the roster as is (after signing Daniels and resigning BBD) would be a better move over signing Watson. We could leave some spare minutes for Pruitt, JR, and Walker to earn by proving themselves. I don't think we need a 10 man rotation, 9 would be just fine.

I see your point of view, ManUp. I just think getting Watson is better than nothing. God forbid anything happens to Rondo. I just don't think Eddie and Pruitt can get the job done.

Wow, how dumb of me I didn't even consider Rondo getting injured.

In that case I change my mind. :P Get it done Danny! ;)

TP for the common sense.

Still draws a paycheck from OKC, perhaps he'll sign for the LLE.

Would really like him to back up Rondo.

I find this SHOCKING that OKC waived Watson. IMO, he's a borderline starter in the NBA and a good defender.

I would LOVE to add him for the LLE (though we have a bigger need at SF).

Wasn't this his 3rd team since he signed his contract? Whoever signed him to that deal (Denver maybe?) was trying to dump him in the 1st year of that deal. There's got to be a reason.

TP, i was thinking that after i posted.

Sort of like Ricky Davis... smoke/fire.
perhaps it's due to the fact that they are a young team and he is an aging player that wants a chance to win? who knows, but i would think we would have heard more about this if there were any problems behind the scenes, stuff usually comes out eventually

If a team signs a player to a 4 year deal and they try and unload him after a few months that's not a great sign. OKC's been trying to trade him for a while and now they're just cutting him (and aren't they keeping Chucky Atkins over him?) isn't much better.

Chucky is on a partially guaranteed contract. A significant trade chip. I'm sure they unload him at some point.

indy star saying watson has agreed with the pacers..leading me to think a sign and trade it coming

This means they won't try and match Toronto's offer for Jarret Jack, right?

Someone on the front page said he has already committed to go to Indiana! If we get a pg, I'd rather sign someon like carlos arroyo (actually I wish Marbury would have taken our offer). But I think we would be best served trying to trade for a bigger SF, either Posey or Nocioni.

Can you image a second unit of
House
Daniels
Posey or Nocioni
Baby
Sheed

That would be awesome, in fact against some teams I think we could give the starting five a day off and still come away with the W!

It is a pipe dream, but it would be the most stacked 2nd unit in the NBA.

I don't think it is unrealistic! If we sign Daniels with the LLE we still have a bunch of expiring contracts of extra pieces we don't need. If a team is trying to save money by getting rid of longer term deals we have what they want. If we don't trade guys like Scal, Tony, Pruitt, Walker, or Giddens before the season, I'm almost certain they will be moved by the trade deadline.

TP for you sir!  It takes a lot to make me openly laugh and cheer at 1:30 AM.  This did it.

The team would be STACKED if we got Earl! Although it would mean goodbye to Pruitt.

Rondo/Watson
Ray/House
Pierce/Daniels
Garnett/Big Baby
Perkins/Wallace

With Giddens, Walker, Scal, and TA on the bench.  Maybe even through a bone to Swift and see if he can do anything by midseason.

Or trade TA to Indy for Daniels, opening up a roster spot, and grabbing Lester Hudson and send him to the D-League!
