Although this is a REAL long shot, at least a way to shore up our backcourt rotation, Delonte West is aparantly on the block, and it seems that Cleveland is fine with moving him after just signing Anthony Parker.

To be honest, getting Delonte may even make Eddie obsolete, though ideally they'd play in the backcourt together and Delonte can be Ray / Rondo insurance if ever either is injured.

Delonte currently gets paid $4.2million

If Cleveland really is trying to shed salary, that would mean they would want to take back picks, expirings, trade exceptions or even players with lower salaries; things we have a lot of. In fact, even Scal and a second round pick or Walker would be enough, with one or both possibly being waived (and then maybe coming back to Boston).

It's a long shot, and I don't think Ferry is dumb enough to trade to a main conference rival (and a contender), but one can always dream.

I'd love to have Delonte back but I'df say the likelihood of the cavs and celts doing a trade is........ low.

Does that relate to the line about helping out a conference rival/contender? Because we weren't rivals or contenders at that stage.
Go Celtics.

not to mention... Delonte was basically their second best player in the playoffs, wasn't he?... two years in a row, actually...
