Well I'd take him at the Vet's minimum, I guess, if we have to.

I got a feeling Thomas will be signing with the Cavs. It was reported they were looking for a "stretch" 4 and Thomas, although aging, can still knock down the 3 and d up SF'sand PF's.

When has Thomas ever D'ed-up in his professional career?

Tim Thomas has NEVER D'ed up anyone in his career, he's avoided the idea entirely ever since he was at Villanova.

I think he would make for a nice vet min contract.

When motivated (like when he played for Larry Brown), he was a good player.

I think the depth of talent and intensity at the top can get the motivated Thomas.

Tim Thomas' nickname should be the "tin man", cause he has NO HEART.  Have people seen him play? He barely gives an effort out there. I mean, we all know there is a "KG" factor in this locker room and what not, but I feel like if Tim Thomas got yelled at he would shirk and not care.  He wouldn't "rise" to the occasion. Teams have paid him to stay away.... Minimal effort, doesn't try hard. Why would anyone prefer a guy like that? Tim Thomas is the king of "Sign and Retire". Ugh.

This offseason is going to seriously depress me if we end up picking up just Wallace and Tim fricking Thomas.

I'm a Marbury fanboy. I had to see him join the Knicks twice. I shutter when I think about him checking in off the bench.

If Thomas is willing to play for the minimum, I'd be happy to have him. Yeah, at this point in his career, we know who Thomas is, and he isn't going to change. But so what? He's still better than 90% of the players you can get at the minimum. He would be a good option.

I'm sure Thomas would like to add another team to his resume.

Maybe an option at the league minimum since he's still getting paid from his old team. He plays his best ball in contract years might be worth a look for some bench scoring.

Like I said, good option either way s a 4th or 5th big If no Baby he can play behind KG or he can play behind Pierce or he can be insurance if we trade for a 3 and sign Baby.  Good glue guy for the minimum.

Not interested. The Celtics already have Sheed and Scalabrine, no need for another perimeter orientated big man, especially not someone who's a very poor defender and a very poor rebounder.

Slightly off-topic, but how do you feel about bringing BBD back?  Is the distinction that he's a better defender?

I don't want the C's to commit any long term money to BBD, I don't think he's worth it. $2.5 million is my preferred cut off point, and on a 2-3 year contract at most. I'm not comfortable paying BBD more than that.

And yes, the main difference is defensively. I think Davis is an above average defender at the center position, and a mediocre one at power forward.
