sidebar: Shaq might have set an NBA record for FG% this season.

Has there been an effective anti-Shaq since he came in the league?  I think Lebron will be the best anti-Shaq.  Worry more about him, but not too much because he'll dish to Shaq for a dunk.
Yup

Perk does a great job on Shaq and Big Baby does a decent job too if we keep him. But I feel Sheed is the "anti-Shaq". He can hold his own on the defensive end, but who is Shaq going to cover between Wallace and KG? You run the pick/pop game with Rondo and the guy Shaq is covering and it's going to be wide open jumpers for either Sheed or KG or wide open layups for Rondo.

Perk can D up Shaq as well as anybody, and i'd hope we have davis as well.

On the other end, do the same thing teams have always done against him.  Pick and roll him to death.  With good screeners (Perk, KG, BBD, Sheed), Rondo will cause them problems, but even better will be our shooters will get any shot they want.  Take your pick of Ray, House, Paul, whoever is hot...

Ben Wallace was the best anti-shaq. His stuff on Shaq that sent him crashing to the floor game 5 of the finals in 04 was amazing. That was when Shaq was just coming out of his prime and Ben had a 20-22 game against him.

5 years later, I think Perk is good enough to stop him.

If Perk can stop Dwight Howard 1 on 1, I think he'll be fine against Shaq.

We have Perk and Sheed.

Hell, we dominated Stoudamire and Shaq with Scal and KG last year... no need to worry about Shaq, we're quite fine with what we have at the moment, and will be even more so once we improve our big men depth.

The anti-Shaq?  His name is Perkins.  Kendrick Perkins.

Shaq's numbers were still pretty decent, but he is increasingly becoming a liability. He can't run.  He's not going to be able to defend Sheed or KG.  He's not as strong as he used to be, so Perk can flex back.  He doesn't have the offensive capability he used to.  He still can't hit a free throw. His presence is going to throw their continuity and chemistry out of balance.

He'll have his good game now and then, but more then, than now.

Good move for the Cs!

Can we acquire age and fatigue?

I think we run pick and rolls with Sheed and KG every posession he's in the game for.

Fair enough.  Hakeem vs Shaq in that Finals was somewhat unfair.  The Dream was was peaking.  I'd love to see someone like the Dream in the NBA again.

I agree with others, we need an anti-LeBron,anti-Kobe more. We already have an anti-Shaq in Perk, and BBD. Shaq cannot guard KG or SHeed. We will kill them with pick and roll, pick and pop at the end of games.

A guy that can guard the 2 and 3 off the bench and score a little bit is what we need. Thats why I am NOT on the MAtt BArnes bandwagon. I do think that who ever we bring in will be better on D than they have been in the past. Look at RA and even PP and ho wmuch better they have been on D the last two seasons.

Daniels, Moon, Posey, Outlaw....give me one in a S&T.
