I love Flip Murray. He is like a poor man's Allen Iverson.
He could definitely run the point with the 2nd or 1st squad.
Great offense and defenders will not drop off him like they do on Rondo which will open it up for House and Sheed.
Actually, with Flip added to the 2nd team, they could compete with the starting 5 on alot of NBA teams.

I can't believe that he is not targeted publicly by any teams yet.

I don't think it is ideal, but our best bet might be to wait things out right now. Some of the guys mentioned might see that the LLE is all they are going to get, regardless of their current "worth". Also, our expiring bench contracts may only get more valuable as the regular season progresses for a trade.

I agree with the Flip Murray suggestions.  He would fit perfectly with Eddie in the back court.  Then make a trade for a backup SF (Posey or Nocioni) using Scal and T.A.'s expiring contracts to shore up the backup 3.  Then re-sign BBD (not Bel Biv Devoe) to round out the backup 4.  Rodney Carney reminds me too much of Tony Allen, just a little bit taller.  But I guess he would be better than nothing.

Out of everyone available at $1.99 million, I think Flip would be the best fit.  Daniels would be great too, but he's probably in the $3-4 million range, and could probably start somewhere.

Rondo/Eddie
Ray/Flip
Pierce/Posey
KG/Baby
Perk/Sheed

Best starting 5 in the league and probably the best bench in the league.

Besides Posey and Nocioni, some other possible small forwards the C's could trade Scal and T.A. for that have less than desirable contracts (because of the contract length) but would fit well on this team, in order:

Shane Battier (2 years)
Stephen Jackson (4 years left)
Gerald Wallace(3 years left) (need to add Giddens and Pruitt)
Corey Maggette (4 years left) (need to add Walker and Pruitt)

Jackson would be the most realistic since he has four years left.  I think he would be a great fit with the C's too.  I don't see the ownership willing to pull the trigger on it though.

The only one of those we have a chance of getting is Maggette and he's not worth the money we'd have to pay him.

Wallace and Battier are both really valuable players (yes, Gerald Wallace is very valuable), especially for their defensive abilities.

Jackson is the captain of the Warriors, if I'm not mistaken.  They are a very young team and they'd have to be really stupid to remove whatever veteran leadership they have going there.  They're not trading him.

Veteran leadership on a mostly young team is also why I think Shane is definitely staying in Houston.  Even if they aren't contenders they need him for his intensity, maturity, and mentoring ability.

I agree, they would be stupid to trade Jackson.  But lots of teams make stupid trades and hopefully Danny could get someone else to make one.  If the Warriors are up for sale the new owners might prefer having shorter contracts.  One of the following four has to be a bench player:  Stephen Curry, Ellis, Maggette and Jackson.  Curry and Ellis are their "future" and Maggette's contract is harder to move than Jackson's.  They might want to move on.  He was the captain of a mediocre team, I think he's tradeable.

Don't know if i'd want maggette or jackson. They aren't exactly defensive oriented guys and I don't know if they'd take a 20-25 minute role (or whether or not we should pay them that much to take that role).

Shane is the obvious best choice though I doubt that's going to happen. His contract is just too good value wise. I do like Wallace but the years are a little long. I'm still personally undecided whether or not we should go cheap or expensive for a wing.

For forward, my first choice is Wilcox, then probably Rasho / Oberto / Joe Smith.
