Valid points but Fazekas isn't a multi year vet like Moore, meaning he'd cost less. If I'm going to pay for ineptness I'd rather pay less for a young inept guy than a guy like Mikki

The difference between Fazekas' minimum salary ($736,420) and the league-subsidized salary for a veteran minimum with 2+ years experience ($825,497) is pretty negligible.  I suppose $90,000 counts for something, but it's not a major amount of money.

From our summer league roster, I'm okay with Fazekas, Swift, Lofton, and Hudson coming to training camp.

They, along with Gabe Pruitt, can all fight for 1-2 spots on the roster.

I'm assuming Walker and Giddens will stay on the roster regardless.

Why not sign a guy like Chris Wilcox?  He seems to fit the bill as a backup PF/C.

Wilcox is my first choice. He's athletic and a good rebounder (10rpg/40m). He's also considerably young (will turn 27 during training camp), and oddly enough he's not getting any interest in the free agent market.

Hopefully we can grab him for the LLE in a short contract (2 years with second year as a player option) so he can use this year as a contract year to see if teams see more of him next year. The experience of being on the celts would make him a better player too.

Granted he's a pipe dream, as I think he's worth more and I've always liked him in his Seattle days, one can really hope.

That being said, Wing is the first priority, and if grabbing Wilcox means we can't spend much on a wing, I don't know if it would be worth it.

Well, it's in the realm of possibility that we do a sign and trade involving BBD in order to fill our wing need, and then sign Wilcox, Gooden, or Smith to the LLE.

On the other hand, we might lose Baby if he gets a high offer (from who I don't know) and in that case we could sign Wilcox and Bogans, one for the minimum, one for the LLE (not sure which gets which).

Or we keep Baby and sign Bogans or somebody similar for the LLE.

I just realised that he played very little minutes (less and less as the season progressed) in NYC, and with the signing of Jordan Hill, he might just be the odd-man out in the rotation. With all the MLE money drying up, we might just be able to snatch him.

No. Although the ankle-breaking opportunities would be quite awesome.

Hope he sticks. He seems to have a similar offensive game to R. Wallace's; but is not as good a low post defender. Size, rebounding and shooting. He just needs to ad some bulk. Clifford Ray and the Celtics trainers could work wonders with him. Foot speed will be a problem.

Fazekas can hardly keep up at the 5 let alone the 3.

BBD is the exception, not the rule. There's a reason guys like Sweetney and Sean May don't stay in the league for long.

I mean at some point there's a tradeoff anyway. The guy could be as quick as a tree, but if he can get his shot off and hit 100% I want him on my team
