Last year Scal had a injury plagued season but he impressed me over and over again. His 3Pt shooting was very efficient, and his defense was very impressive. Some highlight performances from our main man.

1/13/09:

Scal started at Center for Perkins against the Phoenix Suns. KG guarded Shaq and Brian was matched up against Amare Stoudemire for a big part of the game. I understand that we play a defense but anyone outside of Boston would pick Amare to have a dominating night.

Scali: 33mp, 2-8FG, 4Pts, 0-0FT, 2Reb, 2Ast, 1Blk, 0Stl, 0to's
Amare: 30mp, 0-7FG, 3Pts, 3-4FT, 1Reb, 0Ast, 1Blk, 0Stl, 4to's

Scal also only had 15To's all season.

This actually shows alot of the good things he does while he's on the floor, esspecially in "crunch time"

Scal is a decent backup for PP, and an excellent 4th Big for this team.

Except when paired with Rasheed, whose a floor spacer himself, I'd prefer a banger/rebounder type like Powe, whom Scal is not. I think Scal could at least decently soak up some minutes at the 3 spot, but we need a better option at the 4.

My thoughts exactly. TP.
“Being a Celtic is, every decision you make is about the team. Every cut you make is about the team. Every pass you make is about the team. You take yourself out of it. It’s not for everyone. If you don’t want to win, don’t want to play team basketball, and it’s more about you then you’re probably not a Celtic." Doc 2010

I'd like to keep Scal as the fifth big, in a utility player role.

A guy who can come in and fill whatever hole the frontcourt has.

82games.com shows that a lineup of Rondo, Allen, Pierce, Scalabrine, Perkins is one of our most efficient linups.

Obviously its becuase of Rondo/Ray/Paul being there but its actually better in some stats than a lineup of RR,Ray,PP,KG,Scal...

Our FG% goes up while OppFg% goes down, our Reb% goes up, and our TO's go down.

Also our two best Win% lineups both include Scal. (they're the lineups listed above) We come out ahead 80% and 85% of the time that he's on the floor with the starters. (our Starting 5 has a Win% of 72.5%)

but what you want from a bench player is someone that can be good even when he's out there with the rest of the bench... not when he's rooming with the All-Stars.

The bench needs to be built to compliment the starters, not be a separate team.

Scali does a great job of that.

i totally agree, i think he's just as good as alot of the players we've been talking about signing. He doesn't do good by going out and scoring all these points, he's good becuase he's efficiant when he shoots both 3's and FT's, and he makes smart decisions.

He might not have played in alot of finals games but he's been on 3 teams that have gotten there.

hmmmmm... rather than plan "C" wouldnt scal have to be ranked by using the "on beyond zebra" alphabet?

you know, something such as "scal is plan FLOOB (Floob-Boober-Bab-Boober-Bubs)!"

or give one of these a try.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

No really, he does look pretty bad though.

all i want out of scal is for him to work on his body justba little. or curb his diet just a little bit. i want the best scal possible. i would get off his back if he did this.
