Stackhouse is rumored to get bought out by the Grizzlies after the Marion trade.  He has been a solid bench player in Dallas and would fit in nicely as a reserve behind Pierce.  Another bonus is the fact that he and Rasheed are close friends from their days together at UNC.

I think it would be a good fit...maybe better than Grant Hill.

No.  Stackhouse was terrible last season.  He's worth no more than a minimum deal, and at this stage I'm not sure that he's worth that.

No.  There are better options out there for similar money.

I mentioned this earlier in the night.  Absolutely a fall-back option, not someone you would target, not someone who merits the LLE (if we use the LLE this year, we can't use it again next summer, right?).  He barely played last year because of his foot injury; to me, it's largely a question of whether he's healthy or not, which I just do not know.

I like Stack if Hill isn't an option.

I like Hill better though.

Actually I think I like Kareem Rush more than stackhosue, but I wouldn't be mad if we signed him. See signature.

Stackhouse didn't play last season (only appeared in 10 gms) due to a foot/heel injury.  You can't judge him based on that.  It would be like saying Garnett was terrible down the stretch last season.  He is younger and has less miles on him than Grant Hill and may be rejuvenated by sitting out last year.

Stackhouse was brutally bad last year.  Even if he goes back to his previous form after recovering from his injury, he's still probably not worth it.

I dont know who is worse on D, Stack or Ricky Davis.

I tell you I rather play Walker or Giddens over Stack

I am just surprised people are so confident about how Grant Hill will hold up.  This is a player who has only made it to the playoffs healthy once in this entire decade.  Grant Hill has still never won a playoff series in his entire career.  And Hill will turn 37 before the season begins this year...

Stackhouse is not a perfect option, but he is experienced and has traditionally been a solid playoff performer.

Also a guy that has 4 years less wear and tear on his knees than any other 37 year old because of an ankle injury that went horribly wrong from a bacterial infection. He played 82 games last season at also 30 mins a clip, that's gotta count for something

Hill's durability has been an issue, but he'll be at most the 7th man here, if not 8th or 9th.  So his mins wont be too overwhelming

But he also has barely played competitive basketball this decade.  I don't put a lot of stock in one healthy season (especially a contract year).  Let me put it this way:  Do you have more confidence in a Garnett who has a lot of miles but an season ending injury last year or a Greg Oden/Chris Webber type who may have been healthy last year with less miles but traditionally can never stay consistently healthy?  Greg Oden is going to save a lot of wear and tear on his knees...but that is still not going to lengthen his career significantly.

Hill has had at least 3 operations on his ankle before the bacterial infection.  And again, for a veteran, he has almost zero playoff experience and has never been out of the 1st round.
