Bad news for Hudson. He broke it in todays Summer League game.

Red's Army

Quote
He broke the finger after attempting to brace himself during a fall in the first half of the Celtics’ 94-82 loss to Oklahoma City’s summer league team.

“It’s very tough because I want to show Danny (Ainge) and the coaches what I can do,” said Hudson. “But I won’t be out there to do it now. I think I can still play right now, but I have to sit back.”

Lance Young, Hudson’s agent, said he was told that the 6-1 guard may need surgery, and have a pin put in the finger.

There’s a danger in that for Hudson, who has not signed a contract

Well guess we know one person who's not making the team.

Tough break for Hudson. (pun not intended)

I think it's pretty unlikely.  I feel bad for him, this was his big chance and it's probably over.

Yep, I very much doubt he'll make the team.

God that stinks...I wonder what this mean for his chances at making the squad.  I mean there seems to be a lot of precedence on guys who can play and contribute right now (see Powe, Leon.)

Wow, that sucks.  Gets his chance, gets drafted, and then gets injured in a crappy summer league game and might need surgery.  Chance at the NBA...perhaps gone.

What's the big deal he only has a broken finger and can't play... He's a really nice kid... we should sign him anyways.  ;D

Ugh. Things like this happening just remind me how easily injuries can occur. What does it mean that he needs a pin in his finger? Does that mean the injury is more or less severe than a typical broken finger?

For a second round pick if he went overseas we would still hold his rights correct?   Our roster is kind of full so maybe he should try Europe for a year.

Is Coby Karl a Pg or Sg? This might be his chance if he can play the point.
