I don't understand why the Knicks want to sign Grant... The only reason that I can think of is that they want him as a mentor for the younger players but would he really be that good of a mentor when he hasn't even gotten out of the first round?

A mentor works.  Also, I don't think they have their draft pick next year, so they may be trying to make a playoff push (which may make them more marketable to free agents).

They're not just gonna make the playoffs by signing Grant Hill... They're team is too bad for him to come in and make them able to make the playoffs BUT IF HE COMES TO US HE CAN PUT US OVER THE TOP TO WIN THE FINALS.

no. celticsblog can not sign him to an nba contract.

however, i do believe the celtics can.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

ohh, burnnn

I actually think its ok to say we; we fund the team through ticket sales, merchandise and support - without the fanbase, there are no Boston Celtics - its our team, we won green 17, we signed Rasheed, we didn't start the fire

A playoff push makes sense.... in their wishful dreams... They're gonna get leapfrogged by Washington though... And based on last years standings that would make the Knicks the worst team in the East.

C'mon Grant! Come get a title in Boston... just a 4 hour drive away.

It's not that hard to make the playoffs in the East.

The Knicks weren't that far out.

Also I believe that similar to LA, New York loves to put on a show.  They seem always hopeful of landing any kind of big name.  Hill is a star and has been for a while.  And they seem to be trying to distance themselves from the classless players that have filled their roster from previous years.

Knicks might as well sign whoever they can to one year contracts.

I have an idea for the Knicks.  Get off Grant Hill and go after Lamar Odom!  ;D
Stick it to the Fakers.
