Scroll down to the poster with the handle: "lakaluva" and read what their quote is about losing Ariza and replacing him with Ron Artest.  Classy.

that's funny.  all the radio guys here in SoCal are dogging Ariza as well.  All this how he shoulda just taken the low-ball deal, how he was only good in their system, and he'll never win again, etc etc.

kind of funny considering how obvious it was that LA ran him out of town, what did they wait all of 36 hours to sign Ron?  Ariza had no chance of returning.  Mitch did him dirty, especially considering how instrumental he was in their Finals run.

i hope they lose Odom as well, then they'll be setup for an epic collapse.  you know there is going to be some huge Ron/Kobe drama if they don't win it all again this year.  the microscope will be zoomed on that team all year long, it'll be interesting to see how they handle.

So the Celtic fans who were calling kobe a "rapist" on the game threads during the season and all of those "witty" remarks about how ugly Laker players are show the "class" and intelligence of Boston fans, right?

There are idiotic fans in every bunch. Everyone knows that. I think it looks petty and desperate to seek out something that makes an individual look bad and cite it as an example of the "intelligence" and "class" of an entire fan base.

No disagreeing with you here.  Just thought I'd point it out...  And by the way, I said "a Laker fan," not "the entire Laker fan base."

Calm down killa...

Actually, D Dub no one is dogging Ariza. Everyone is dogging his AGENT. Ariza's agent went in to the offseason thinking he was going to be able to high-ball/low-ball with the Laker organization in the hopes of getting him something more than a MLE deal and I think the team (knowing that the good free agents like Sheed, Kidd, Gortat and their ilk were going to be chased by all the rest of the top contenders) felt like it wasn't going to have the time to go back and forth with a young player and his agent when they knew what they were willing to spend and knowing full well what they would need to resign Odom AND having the knowledge (wink, wink) that they always had Ron Artest in their back pocket willing to accept a MLE deal just to get with the team.

It was a smart move. No one is denigrating Trevor. It was just a decision made.

Again, not disagreeing with you at all, or the logical evaluations of why Ariza was not retained.  The point was the show the disgusting analogy that was used by that particular poster.

Man, I guess I really take this forum format for granted.  Its clean, fairly easy to operate, and just looks better.

No doubt about it.  Trying to clean up/moderate that forum would be akin to when Mr. Clark (Morgan Freeman) went to that inner city high school to clean it up in the movie "Lean on Me."
