Nuggets are ready to package two or more players (outside of Oden, Love, Green, Conley and Foye) for a single scorer (under the age of 28).

For win now teams looking for depth, a package of Haslem, Pietrus and Scali might look very nice.

There's one way to solve this problem....

Due to tough economic times, the Indiana Pacers

elect to sign nobody

To any Danny Ainge protoges out there, Bulls are willing to move Robert Swift for an Al Jefferson or Rajon Rondo equivalent.  :)

  • Doc could learn a thing or two from Norman Dale

Quote from the experts:

Quote
He needs to add substantial weight and muscle if he is to ever reach his true potential … His explosiveness is mediocre (as a leaper he is fairly limited and his first step is only average) … Even though he has an extremely soft touch, he still struggles finishing in traffic because he cannot absorb contact … He is easily thrown off balance and forced into tough shots by stronger defenders … At times, he dips the ball pretty low on the catch, which allows the defenders to close out on him … If he is challenged and forced to rush his shot, his efficiency decreases … Needs to gain consistency on his shot, he goes through droughts and this causes a downward spiral for his entire game since most of his moves rely on shot fakes and his ability to attack out of the triple threat … He is somewhat passive, seems so take what the defense gives him and he tends to settle for outside shots rather than using his length around the basket … He needs to work on his off hand as he becomes predictable attacking to his right far too often . . . Gets muscled by stronger players which gives him problems on both ends of the floor

Quote

Quote
Has battled inconsistency throughout his career … Does not show up to play every night and has stretches where he disappears completely, not only as a scorer but in other facets as well …. He is 2 years older than his class, taking off some potential for growth … Is a bit heavy legged which limits his 1st step … His shooting numbers have improved but he is still a very streaky and somewhat inconsistent shooter from the outside … He takes a lot of bad shots early in the shot clock and out of the offense … Settles from the outside, and does not always get to the basket … Goes for the homerun play and forces the action too often, especially in transition when he attacks even without numbers …. Needs to learn to control the tempo better, and mix the pace up … Defensively, he doesn’t move well laterally and is foul prone, but with his length and physical package he should be able to overcome … Continues to shoot a mediocre percentage from the line (69%) …

In other words, if you want weak, inconsistent players who are a long, long way away from ever appearing in an NBA game, talk to JR.  ;)

In similar news, Gerald Green, Taj Gibson, Alexis Ajinca, and Hamed Haddidi are all available.

Didn't we do this the other day Roy? Why just post the weaknesses of my players. Post their whole review. But really why even post. I don't post reviews of the 50,000 Portland hype machine posts. Are you that scared of our team. We did this the other day and I thought we agreed to stop. I'm really surprised you want to start this again.

Posts like these make it look like you are REALLY scared of the Bulls MVP candidate leading team. I know our second best player Pau or our third best player Kevin Martin would be your best player, but again this is silly. Stick to your own hype machine.

A lot of teams are being turned off by the ruthless tactics of Portland, from talking to other GM's. The overhype of injured old players and the attacks on other teams and the misleading posts and the flip flopping. It's going so overboard.

A little sensitive, JR?  Or just worried that people will see the truth about the players you're trying to sell them?

We're just engaging in a little good-natured ribbing (and some education for some of the GMs who may not know much about these players.)

Again we did this the other day.  Education shouldn't be misleading.  You are welcome to include their whole scouting reports if you so wish. Seems a little obsessive, but at least it would be education. You lauded the Daye pick when Nick made it the other day fwiw.

Austin Daye was a fine pick in the 11th or 12th round (whichever it was).  He doesn't, however, have any real value, much in the same way we wouldn't expect somebody to give us a lot for Fred Jones (who actually started 21 games), Gerald Green (a proven NBA scorer) or Taj Gibson.

yeah, i'll agree It is kind of amusing... and rookies in this game (outside of the top 3-4 or so) are like lottery tickets.

That said finding "experts" who point out draft prospects flaws is funny since I'm sure those same "experts" lauded guys like Darko and G.Green etc. (and probably were some of the same "experts" who nearly unanimously picked the Lakers in 4,5 or 6 games in the Finals a couple years ago  ;D)

And remember JR turnabout is fair play. Find some "experts" about the guys on Roy's team --- i'm sure you can find some amusing annecdotes in TOR, MIA, MIL PHO about being happy some of those guys are gone.

Exactly.  Personally, stuff like that -- and the chance to respond to it -- is a lot of fun to me.  The information / disinformation campaigns are sort of amusing.  That's one of the reasons that Phoenix and Portland have a "feud" going right now.
