Since we re looking at teams and I am probably done for the day (no way am I paying the price I just saw)

Critique my team.

Starting 5
PG  Conley
SG  Pietrus
SF  Green
PF  Haslem
C   Oden

bench
PG/SG Foye
PF/C  Love

with 4 picks on Monday to complete the rotation.

I agree with indeed, thats why I'd start Foye over Pietrus or Love over Haslem.

So...

PG- Chris Paul
SG- Rudy Fernandez
SF- Tayshaun Prince
PF- Pau Gasol
C-  Al Horford
6th man- Wilson Chandler

Thoughts???

p.s. 5.21 for sale
I love this team's defensive ability. Paul is 1st team All-Defense, Prince, Horford and Gasol are are much better than average defenders and I like that Chandler can come in at the SF for scoring because as good as Prince is in defending, he disappears on offense far more than he should. Excellent start.

Also, Horford running the break against other centers with Paul is going to result in about 3-4 alley oop scores for Horford a game. With Paul as his PG, Horford's offensive game expands.

Not a big fan of Rudy starting at SG.  I would hope in future picks you land a starting quality SG that Rudy would have to at least compete for that spot.

I like Chandler off the bench and think he is just going to improve, especially with that PG.

Need some pure shooter for Paul and Gasol to kick out.

That team will lose a LOT of games next year. Possible decent team down the road if a young player makes a leap to a star. I assume your banking on Oden?

That pure shooter is Rudy Fernandez. He was a rookie last year and killed it from behind the arc. Ray Allen would come off the bench behind Brandon Roy. This move to Chicago will be huge for Rudy. He has a rapport with Gasol and will live off Chris Paul.

Both will have a chance to earn a starting spot but, till they play defense up to Larry Brown's liking, they are going to be 25-30 minute bench players.  Both being able to step into two spots.

I expect Foye to stay there.  The backcourt of he and Conley are to small defensively to start.  Pietrus is fine as a starting 2, able to put up 10-13 points a game and playing top notch defense.

Plus, those two starting helps makes this team a playoff team.  I like the young talent there, but I want it to have experience winning.

As for offense, it will have to be a team offense.  Going forward, alot will depend on Oden development as a low post threat, and the other players hitting open shots.  But the team is filled with a few players that can score in the 12-18 point range.

The plan now is young, defense.  There are plans in place already to add more offensive firepower in the future.

I wish I had known there was gonna be a Gilbert Arenas witch hunt before I drafted him.  This is absolutely nuts.  According to this blog every media outlet is boosting Arenas up for some unknown reason just so that he can not play at all next season.  Not a single person has provided any evidence that Arenas cant play.  Just blindly turns away from fact and reason.  It absolutely boggles my mind.

By the way, got off the phone with my friend who works for the Washington Nationals, he said Gilbert Arenas was in their clubhouse earlier this year and said he was ready for the season

And how good have the Washington Nationals been at evaluating talent and judging the projected performance of players in their own sport, never mind basketball? It's kind of like saying the Detroit Lions said that Dice-K was ready to pitch right now.

Wait, the Nationals or the Natinals?  ;D

BREAKING NEWS: the Orlando Magics just sent Commish Don confirmation on a 3-for-1 deal that involves picks and/or players.

Shockingly, none of the pieces was named "Gilbert Arenas".

Its not a "hunt" if you keep bringing the "witch" front and center.

My pick is actually in, I'm here for a little longer but will be out at 2:15ish.  I'm bummed cuz I'd love to see the reaction to the pick. I think it's CONTROVERSIAL ("Hard Copy" thud, thud sound)

As long as we're critiquing:

PG: Tony Parker
SG: Rudy Gay
F: Boris Diaw
F: Andrea Bargnani
C: Brook Lopez

To echo some other comments, I'm not sure about Gay at SG and Diaw at SF. Both seem out of position to me.

I like the players though. A natural SG might help you recalibrate the lineup, and allow you to bring Bargs or Diaw off the bench as a supersub.

Precisely

I don't like Diaw.  Only success he has had is really as a small C (with minor success as a small PF)

SG should definitly be high on your list

It is a hunt when I am trying to defend factless accusations.  Any of you would do the same thing if one of your players all of a sudden despite all reports from people that get paid to talk basketball say is ready to go

I speak for me, but can't be the only one that feels this way. I personally bet Arenas is fine. He's training with Wade's guy, blah blah blah. He could very well come back healthy and tear up the league. Frankly, I don't know and don't really care all that much. However, reading something new about Gilbert Arenas every [dang] page has annoyed me to the point that I now am just playing devil's advocate in saying Arenas will be injured forever and never healthy ever again.

Gilbert Arenas has become the Brett Favre of CB, and you have become ESPN. If people don't like the pick, that's their problem. TJ Ford was not a popular pick, but I didn't need to respond with every favorable thing I could find on Ford. Some like it, some don't, we all move on. If you don't bring it up, people will stop hating on it.
"Let me call him," Floyd said.

The man shook his head. "O.J. doesn't give out his cell," he said. "He'll call you."
