  • TRANSFORMATION INTO CHAMPION COMPLETE!!!
Let me see:

Parker/Hill
Mason/Ginobili
Jefferson/Finley
Duncan/Gooden
McDyess/Bonner

I think it still needs some work, but Mr. Reliable Duncan has won with less. If they stay healthy, they are my third favs behind C's and Lakers.

Is McDyess really a center?  Seems to me they'd more likely play Timmy D at center and Dyess at PF.  They haven't signed either Gooden or Bonner yet, either, but they'll at least have Blair as a backup PF.

It'll probably be one of those things were Duncan is listed as power forward, but defends the other team's center, and plays almost exclusively in the paint on offense while being defended by the other team's center. But don't you dare call him a center!

Spurs are gonna be awesome this year.  They are gonna be real fun to watch if they can stay healthy.

The Spurs are certainly making the most of their opportunities.  Might be a little late for them, however.  Love the Dice addition, but they are still pretty skinny in the frontcourt and I'm not a huge fan of RJ's game.  Ginobli's going to have to come back in a big way for them to beat the Lakers.

If the Lakers lose out on Odom, then the Spurs have a great shot at them.

I like...

I don't know about their bench but that starting lineup looks impressive. This team could be a real threat to the Lakers. If they can manage to keep everyone healthy the could make it back to the finals.

Well I am glad that Mcdyess is in the West.  I am scared to death though if we have to face the Spurs in the finals because if they are completely healthy then forget it we cannot match up to that team.  They just have far more experience and championships then we do and now with the add ons to the team this is really scary.  I really would rather play the Lakers or Cavaliers than the Spurs maybe though the Cavaliers will knock off both the Spurs in the Lakers in the West but not likely.

I'm still waiting to see how the Spurs will mesh together, but you are right, they are much scarier than last year at least.  Welcome to the blog, here's your first TP to go with that first post of yours.

I'm sorry, but we match-up extremely well with the Spurs.  We have 3 guys who can legitimately defend Duncan, we're much bigger inside, our wings are more potent and a better match for each other's games and I think Rondo/KG can defend Parker better than just about any tandem in the game.  The Spurs only edge is their backcourt depth.  Hill's good and Mason and Finley are nice bench options off the wing.  But our superior starting 5 and Wallace off the bench makes us a very difficult opponent for the Spurs.

They are also going to struggle with the Lakers.  Parker can hurt the Lakers quite a bit, but again the Lakers are really tough to match-up with on the wing and their frontcourt poses problems similar to Boston's.

Boy, nice little offseason additions the Spurs have made to the team without really giving much up. Thats a pretty darn good line up they got down there in S.A.

Do the Spurs have any expiring deals they can play with at the deadline?  That could make them much scarier.

A Spurs/Celtics final would be awesome in terms of just Basketball. The matchups alone are good enough for me. We share some players with very similar style or that do a lot of the same things(Rondo/Parker, Pierce/Ginobli, Garmett/Duncan). It would be very interesting to see which player gets the best of the other and settle some old debates like Garnett vs Duncan, etc. It'd also be a good test for Doc.
