If Cleveland wants to re-sign Sideshow Bob and use the MLE on BBD, that's OK with me, too; I'll take Joe Smith at the veteran minimum to be our fourth big.

What's Joe Smith's status?  Is he really available?  I'd take him in a heart beat.

He's unrestricted.  When NO bought him out, Cleveland signed him just for the rest of the year.  His stats were virtually idential in NO and in Cleveland.  I'd rather have BBD as the fourth big, but Joe Smith for 15 minutes a night would work for me as well, especially since there's no way he gets more than the LLE.

Same contract as the Cs gave Rasheed.  I would rather have had Mcdyess, can't shoot the 3 but rebounds better, shoots a much better %, and is a lot easier to root for.  I'm loving how the Spurs are loading up.

this gets another solid big guy out of the East. Detroit is going to be terrible next year.

I like McDyess. This should be a good fit on SA.

Excellent signing by San Antonio. This makes them a legitimate contender for the title.

Yes!

I think Sheed is a better signing, but the Lakers are under pressure out West hopefully.

Spurs are definitely gonna be a juggernaut in the West next year if they can stay healthy.  But that's a big if.

and denver quietly had a nice offseason not really losing anyone and adding a young point in lawson...denver, the spurs, the jazz (if the can stay healthy), the blazers all will be very good out west

Let me see:

Parker/Hill
Mason/Ginobili
Jefferson/Finley
Duncan/Gooden
McDyess/Bonner

I think it still needs some work, but Mr. Reliable Duncan has won with less. If they stay healthy, they are my third favs behind C's and Lakers.

Is McDyess really a center?  Seems to me they'd more likely play Timmy D at center and Dyess at PF.  They haven't signed either Gooden or Bonner yet, either, but they'll at least have Blair as a backup PF.
