99% of the people in Boston were convinced we couldn't win without KG.  So why did we even bother putting Powe in there if he wasn't 100%?  If we were gonna lose anyway why wasn't Moore starting?
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I thought Powe was fine, but then injured his other knee, not the knee that was previously injured.

And please, can we give the Powe stuff a break.  Geez! ::)

um, Powe got hurt in game 2 of the Chicago series.  He played 17 minutes in game 1 and 8 minutes in game 2 before he got hurt.

But the injury wasn't even related was it? So why would they not have played him?

They probably believed it was no biggie if Powe got hurt and if he did it would alleviate any decision they had to make between BBD/Powe.  Or maybe they thought he was healthy enough to play.  One of the two.

Well he technically did play for a couple minutes after he got injured... He just didn't come out of the game. Powe's a beast and loves the game so much that he will even try to play with a torn ACL. I hope we can sign him next year.

Well nobody knows his body more than him. If he was hurt, he shouldn't have played. He's a grown boy.

It wasn't even a couple minutes.  Once it was apparent that it was worse than a twist or strain, they sat him down.  Friends of mine who have blown out their knees, depending on what they were doing tried to continue.  So it's not surprising that Leon would have tried to play for a bit more.

So no one did anything wrong.

I dont really get your original post. Powe didnt play at all in the second series, and only played a game and a half in the first series. And why would Moore start? We were still trying to win. No one said we were gonna forfeit our games. We started BBD so that we could have at least a shot at winning (and almost got to ECF)

I guess in your imaginary fantasy world 25 minutes of game action does not equate to playing, but in the real world, 25 minutes counts as playing.

Yes, 25 minutes counts as playing, but he did not play after that. he decided his knee was too bad to play so he didnt push it. Its not like he finished the series or played hurt through the next round. he stopped after a game an a half. yes he played, but it wasnt a whole lot at all (and only for 2 games)

Huh, you said he didn't play but he obviously did. Both games for which he was active he played a solid number of minutes, before the injury.

Still I don't think anyone did anything wrong here. It was the other leg and he wanted to play, the doctor's said it'd be okay.

He was nursing an injury before the playoffs started.

and he decided to play, his choice.

He seems like a great guy, he has nothing but my utmost respect for the way he handles himself and his game on the court, I wish him nothing but the very best, he deserves it.

I'm a huge leon powe fan, i hope his rehab goes outstanding, he signs with us or the best team for him, and he gets back to powe pimping ASAP, but he's a grown man who made a choice.

But the boston celtics are not required to be a charity organization because some people get the sniffles over his personal history, and feel bad that an injury prone player got injured yet again.

I wonder if these same people who want the celtics to tie up close to two million dollars with a QO and a roster spot on a player who may not even make it back this year would feel the same way if it was gabe pruitt who got hurt.

Leon's personal history is tragic, it does not make the celtics beholden to give him free money to rehab for a year and then possibly jump ship . They have offered full use of thier medical staff and facilities to him while he rehabs, and that's all they should be expected to do.
