This makes me happy. Lebron and Wade are holding their franchises hostage - refusing to sign extensions on their remaining 1 year of their contracts. And yet demanding that their teams go get the best free agents possible.

No one wants to sign with those teams, only to see the star leave a year later, sending the team into the lottery zone.

This situation serves them right. Its smart business to hold the cards for 2010. But they are sacrificing significant team improvement this year via free agent pickups.

Neither team should be spending their MLE. The cap space they have next offseason is far more valuable.

Yeah.  I hope CLE ends up as the 3rd seed this year and Miami ends up at 7th or 8th.

I agree 100%. Nonetheless, they are trying and failing. Cleveland and Ariza come to mind.

Heck, Miami might pick up Iverson... How does that make sense for their future??

What stinks for us is it enhances the value of players such as Grant Hill, who could get a 1 year full MLE from one of those teams...

On the other hand, they don't get Rasheed Wallace.  ;D

I have a feeling Grant Hill will choose Boston... NY is really not that far away - especially compared to ORL and PHO!!

That way he gets to be reunited with Doc, play on a true title contender for the first time, and be close to NYC.
