I cannot for the life of me understand that signing. The guys is a bad version of House. Can't run the offense, doesn't rebound or pass well, and actually declined in shooting % last year. They would have been better off poaching House for a year or trying to snag a shooter with some size.

At any rate - they definately wasted some cap space that could have helped them get a Bosh while keeping Andy V.

Remember he had that one great playoff game 2 years ago? ::)

That was my immediate thought too.  Guy made a career out of it though.  Good for him.

The other possible answer is that his name is far too amusing to let go of.
Yup

This is what happens when the decision makers on a team get enamored with their own players like fans do.

Kinda like Ty Lue, making an NBA career out of one or two decent games defending Iverson in the playoffs way back seven or eight years ago.  He doesn't have the nickname, but he did have those god-awful cornrows (even before Bronson Arroyo, I believe).

It happens to a lot of people.  Jerome James had one good playoff series block-shot wise and then got an enormous contract.

I always thought Gibson was overrated, def not deserving of his salary.

nothing like a $4 mil guy that plays less than 10 minutes a game and shoots from the same spot each time.

I could actually do that... anyone have a contact with Cleveland? I'll do it for 3.5 mil, save them some cash even

Sounds a lot like Davis now that Wallace is in Boston now.

To be fair to Ty Lue --- who i like as a backup --- he does have a career 2.6 asst/to ratio which is not too shabby.

Lue turned his run with the Lakers into a whopping $1.8M contract, and later got a $3.5M one with ATL.

What are you talking about? The classic Tyron Lue clip is where he gets his ankles broken by Iverson in the corner beyond the arc. The best part is that once Iverson has Lue down on the ground he just pulls back for the long jumper, nothing but net, and then steps over Lue (who is still on the floor) talking trash to him.

That was one play, I'm talking about the whole series.  Iverson was shooting about 35% for most of that series, he was putting up a lot of points but doing so taking thirty shots (classic Iverson).  That was when Iverson was at his absolute best, and Lue played him better than anyone that whole playoffs.
