Hill has the talent to put a team over the top, even at this stage in his career. But obviously he is looking for money and 'opportunities' rather than something he will never get a chance at again: Winning a ring.

I seriously doubt that Grant Hill would turn down an opportunity to win a ring just for some extra bread. The guy is taken care of for the rest of his life.  And the Knicks are so bad.  I think he is just being polite. He will sign with us.

Let's hold off on the Hill bashing until he's officially a Knick. All these people calling him names would turn around and love him again if all of this turns out not to be true.

You absolutely right.  The same thing happened with Rasheed.  People kept talking about how they wanted Dice more (which I bashed), and didn't want Sheed in green, and as soon as he signed he's the most popular guy in town.  There is a reason Hill is Danny's number one choice.  HE FITS IN PERFECTLY.  Does that mean he is the perfect or the best player?  No, that means that he's a very, VERY intelligent player on both ends of the floor that still has the scoring, D, versatility, and athletisism to push this team over the edge and make them better.

With that being said, I've heard his wife loves NY, which is tough to overcome.  However, I was also speaking with Bill Guerin (just won a Stanley Cup with the Penguins) and he and his wife were talking about their move from Long Island to Pitt.  She mentioned that she didn't like the city as much as living out on LI, but that you can't pass up a chance to play with guys like Crosby and Malkin, or pass up a chance to play for a cup again.  Hopefully Hill's wife is just as grounded as Mrs. Guerin.

I guess winning isn't important to Grant Hill

he'll do this, because his wife wants N.Y.

Agreed.  Hill answered some questions from the media in a classy and polite way.  Why is he being criticized?

Why bash the guy regardless of his descision?

What a horrible guy if he decides to play in NYC because of his family and his wife's career. HORRIBLE!

NBA players are morons. Artest took a pay cut just to play in LA. Hill joins a dysfunctional franchise cause its in NYC. This stuff just does not make any sense.

You married?  Sometimes you do things for your wife that you don't want to do.

Hell, I'm convinced that Turkoglu just signed with Toronto because his wife wanted him to.

I wonder if Hill and Turkoglu are BFFs with Doug Christie.
Carl: And, technically, he's supposed to be spayed, and uh, he ain't that. I know that first hand. Go ahead, ask me how I know. Go ahead. Ask me. Ask me how I know.

wonder where the celtics turn if he goes to NY....not getting hill or a proven wing and letting baby walk would doom the bench.

Can someone in Boston show Hill's wife how easy it is to take a quick plane ride to NY?

i think point is the least of the concerns. the wing is a bigger concern than any. and no giddens nor walker are good enough to be the guy that allows PP to get some important rest. those 2 just aren't ready. they have to go get someone

I can understand Hill's decision to settle in New York at age 36, when his wife asks him to and when he is probably in love with the city himself. Still I feel that he wants a ring more than an early "retirement" playing for the Knicks, so we'll see the decision he takes in the next days but I'm still confident about our chances of signing him.
