He should, and would be the third PG at the roster.

I don't imagine he and Eddie would ever be in the game at the same time.

Maybe Ainge is saying he's interested in Lue with the hope that Marbury reconsiders and signs before they sign Lue?  At least that's what I'm hoping!

Lue would either be one of the best 3rd string PGs in the league, or one of the worst 2nd stringers.  Where he fits in the rotation determines what I think of the move.

There isn't really anything wrong with Ty Lue as a backup. His offensive game is decent, he can hit a jumpshot. I remember him going off on us when Rondo was first in the League and Bassy being our pg before that. Plus he's a decent enough guy, he'd fit in well. He's also got championship experience with the Lakers.

I thought Lue did a good job as the Magic's 4th string point guard in the Finals.  :P

I don't understand this. He would play 10 FRICKIN MINUTES a night. Lue would do absolutely fine. And how come everybody wanted him a year ago before he decided to go to Milwaukee and now he's damaged goods?

Lue is certainly not my first choice but the idea that he could somehow be worse than Marbury I find confusing. Did I miss something or wasn't Marbury the worst backup pg in the NBA last year?
Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity...

Besides Marbury and Lue what other veteran backups are available?

Please, no Tyronn Lue... it doesn't even make sense to try to sign him, the only explanation would be that KG wants to build the "KG's family crew" in Boston.

Re-sign Marbury or even another point guard but not Lue, he is too old and not very talented, I'm not sure he did play more than 20 games last season. I hope this rumor is false.

I'm fine with a spot-up point guard who initiates the offense and then gets out of the way, though my preference would be a good ball handler and distributor who can complement Eddie House.

Isn't that what Eddie House does?

Which is why I suggested I'd rather have a PG that does the exact opposite.
