What chance does he have to make the roster?

To get back up minutes in games?

The two occasions I saw this kid play when he was healthy (about the only two times he played healthy!!), I was actually very impressed by his mobility, aggressiveness and size.  He was very aggressive on the boards, challenged shots, and hustled. Alot of fun is made of him, first of his looks, later of his tattoos.  But this kid has talent.  Two major knee surgeries effectively wiped out his last two seasons.

I love these kind of stories, and hope he catches on to the team, gets healthy, and contributes to this team.

Well, if he's completely healthy, he's probably good enough to make the team as the 5th big(4th if BBD leaves). But after 2 knee injuries, it will be interesting to see if he can regain that mobility you talk about. The C's first summer league game is today, so it will be interesting to see what happens. With walker, pruitt, giddens, hudson, and all these bigs, probably at least 4 of the guys on this summer league team will make the C's team.

I think once Danny sees that a lot of veterans want to sign with the Celtics for the vet min after the Sheed signing he will trade a bunch of expiring contracts for Noccioni or Posey. This will leave room for a guy like Swift to get a chance. Sign him up as the 5th big, he has to be better than POB.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Interesting you bring up the knee surgeries.  If we use that as criteria, then we shouldn't even think about Leon. Nevertheless, the kid, while talented seems like an accident waiting to happen.

Doc made a comment about some of the summer players not playing hard.  I guess we'll find out soon enough the names of those players.

I did not see that Doc comment. I read that he felt this summer camp was more competitive than past seasons.

They won't make that trade if they sign Grant Hill.  I would have loved to see Noccioni (probably prefer him over Hill), but he'd be redundant now.

Hill is a back up at the 2/3 Noccioni is a 3/4. I have no problem playing both them at the same time. Especially if Baby is gone he can play some 4 in the second unit.

You're right.  Doc said, “What gets me is that they’re not all this competitive. They all should be, but for some reason some are more competitive than others.”

In rereading the comment, I think he was talking about summer league teams, not individual players.  My bad.

I think it's a coin flip. 50-50 shot at making the team.

Ugh, I would still prefer Powe or BBD. As long as we get Powe for the minimum and BBD for no more than 3 million annually.
Carl: And, technically, he's supposed to be spayed, and uh, he ain't that. I know that first hand. Go ahead, ask me how I know. Go ahead. Ask me. Ask me how I know.

I thought he was going to make the roster on the back end. I want to apologize for that thought. After actually watching him play in the summer league game, he does not have much game.

Nope.  Terrible.  We better get BBD back.
