By basically saying the C's will match an offer for BBD, would this help facilitate a trade involving BBD that could bring multiple players to Boston and unload our expiring contracts other than Ray?

I am hoping we can trade to upgrade the bench. That will still leave us with the vet min, the LLE, and MLE to add even more talent to the roster.

Thoughts?

Davis can only be traded for his BYC number which is around his qualifying offer (about 2 million). However, we could package him with Scal (3.5 million), TA (2.5 million), Giddens (1.5 million), Pruitt (1 Million). That's around 10 million in expiring contracts that we can trade. I think we do this before the offseason is over because it's easier for a team to take on a 4 or 5 for 1 trade.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

how about Baby + TA for Outlaw?

or even better Baby + Scals + JR for Marion?

I'd be happy with either of those trades.

I would go for that, but I think it is highly unlikely. Perhaps we could get Marion in a S&T b/c Toronto is going to have to unload some guys to take Hedo.

I would love to trade with Portland for Outlaw and/or Rudy

The key is getting Sheed. Once he signs with the C's, I honestly think there will be A LOT of guys wanting to take the LLE or vet min to come to Boston.

I think Lee maybe too expensive for us, atleast for what he brings. I know he's a hustle machine and gets his fair share of dbl dbl's ... but I also remember reading either an article or here in the forums a pretty good statistical breakdown of how he is one of, if not the, worst defensive powerforwards in the league ... does anyone remember this??

That ship don't sail on these waters. If you can't play defense I don't want you on the Celtics.

I'm so confused about the BBD situation.  I went from being sure during the season that they would only resign one guy between BBD and Powe.  I was sure it was gonna be Powe.  Then I was convinced they were gonna need both of them.  Then I went to thinking they were gonna choose Baby for sure.  Now, they aren't gonna resign Powe (at least not right now) and it seems more and more like Baby is slowly and quietly sailing off into the distance.  I wouldn't mind a sign and trade if it could bring in one great bench guy, or a few who fill in for certain roles.

But I'm starting to wonder if in the end Baby will just end up on another team without us matching.

(BTW, I would love the david lee, marion, or outlaw deal.)

Baby isn't sailing off. He is a RFA. We can match any offer. Now we wait. That is par for the course.

No I doubt it.

Travis Outlaw is mentioned on this blog more than the big 3.  No one in the league including the blazers hold him in as high a regard.  I wonder what Tanquay's gut feels about Travis Outlaw.
