Fellow Celtic fans-

I never expected the great responses I received for posting the 4-part Reggie Lewis tribute link that I posted to youtube.  I also found the recording of the last two minutes of a game in Miami from April in 1993.

Reggie makes some key plays (a quick first step for a monster 2-hand slam, then his trademark tough fade-away baseline jumper) to help seal a comeback win.  Dee Brown (one of other favorites from the 1990's) also makes some huge plays.

It's a great last two minutes of a game for the Celtics and their fans.  Here is part 1:

Here is the second part.  Reggie finished with 32 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists.  The Celtics win 103-100, and Reggie gets interviewed by Ahmad Rashad at the conclusion of the game:

A few things that stuck out to me:

-Lewis was unstoppable.  If he wasn't the one hitting the shot, he was the one making the right pass, or creating the offense allowing others to clean up.

-Dee Brown and him should have made such a dynamic duo.  It never happened for obvious reasons (Lewis' death) and for some reason Dee Brown never really figuring it out.  It's too bad, Dee Brown was another one of my favorites, and as a little kid it was the most amazing thing to me that he won the slam dunk competition.  My brother and I used to look forward to the slam dunk competition as much as anything in basketball every year.  We would tape the contests and watch them over and over again.  Dee showed so many flashes, but ultimately never put the whole package together.

-Dee Brown, Rick Fox, Kevin Gamble, Xavier McDaniels, Chris Ford.  These used to be common household names in my family.  So awesome to see them again.

-My first pair of basketball sneakers were a pair of Xavier McDaniels.

-The commercials were just as awesome as the game.  Its amazing how advertising has developed.  Also, Jordan's shirt in that McDonalds commercial is hilarious.

-I forgot the Magic tried his hand at announcing.  I liked him as a personality, although it seemed like he couldn't get his thoughts out completely or fast enough.

Man, you are gonna rack up the TP's if you keep doing this stuff.  Here's one more from me for the welcoming flow of memories you just gave me.

Oh yeah, two more things i forgot.  Brian Shaw on the Heat.  Forgot he played for them after us.  Harold MInor...he was supposed to be the next MJ.  Even in this game in his rookie season it was discussed by Magic.  Probably wasn't to fair to that kid.  How many years did he really end up making an impact?  How many years did he even stay in the league for that matter?

I really miss games being on NBC.  The theme music (my cell phone ringtone), having Marv (who I know still does national games now), Ahmad Rashad doing sideline reporting.  I was never really a fan of ABC doing games compared to NBC.

Totally agree with you about all of these points.  I was definitely anticipating a Lewis/Brown combo to become something great.  It's my pleasure sharing these with you guys.  I have another full game against Orlando that I'll try to get up there soon.  It was broadcast on Fox25 with Jimmy Myers in studio.  Tommy Heinsohn did the play-by-play and Bob Cousy was the color anaylst.  They lost, but it was still pretty cool to watch it.

Jimmy Meyers!  Ha ha!  I almost forgot about that guy.  He used to always say, "His Reggie-ness," when he was talking about Reggie Lewis.

My pleasure.  I have a few more coming, but that may be all of the Reggie stuff I have left in the vault.
