Then they get Raheed, they still screwed up in my book. Davis and Powe were  pretty awesome together. I hope all this turns out ok cause I hate losing those two, and sometimes you don't appreciate what you got till it is gone. I mean they could have gone after Ariza, Artest and stayed put at the bigs.

They were awesome with KG or Perk.

Together, they were usually to small and really didn't compliment each other.

But if both are gone and replaced with Wallace and another vet big man (Oberto for example) the Celtics are improved.

I do want them to keep Davis as long as it is not at near MLE level.

Not sure Rasheed Wallace is an improvement over Leon Powe + Glen Davis.

Well you have to count on Sheed plus whoever they sign, they certainly would not go into training camp with just 3 big men (sheed, Perk and KG.)
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Rasheed Wallace + another vet PF( Joe Smith type) is definitely an improvement over an Injured( 3rd ACL Injury) Powe and BBD

well we could still sign Leon.....something I would be even more upset with us not doing if we lose out on Baby..

but that said, Sheed cures a lot of ills. He really should be getting the majority of the backup minutes either way (losing Baby or not losing Baby).

welll powe wouldn't be ready by training camp.
we can't have only three utilizable big men going into camp.
so not resigning powe and signing another big man would be a smart decision so that we could train a solid core of four big men.
Practice? Whatchu talkin about practice?

Sorry, I was unclear, I meant over last season. Is it an improvement over last season?

I don't want the Celtics to resign Glen Davis, unless the contract is worth less than $2.5 million. I do want the Celtics to resign Leon Powe, but I want him to be their 6th big man, a role where pretty much nothing is expected of him for next season. That's why I didn't mean is it an improvement over what they'd get next season from BBD and Powe.

I got your man, Ike Diogu. I know he hasn't played much over his career, but the kid has skills . At least bring him into training camp and see what he can do. He could be had for the vet MIN

EDIT: opps I read it wrong, I thought you said you wanted another PF besides Powe , where not much is expected of him .

I'm less optimistic about getting a quality fourth big man than I was a few weeks ago.

Fourth Big Man

Good options -- Rasho Nesterovic, Joe Smith. Chris Wilcox, Fabricio Oberto. Channing Frye?

Less Good Options -- Jason Collins, Brian Skinner, Adonal Foyle, Robert Swift, Chris Mihm, Stormile Swift, Johan Petro, Sean Marks, Ike Diogu.

I think Joe Smith + Oberto are the most likely players in the good section to sign for a minimum contract. Might need to get lucky to get one of the other guys. The quality available to the C's drops quickly after them.

I'd love Rasho or Smith.
But I doubt they sign for the LLE

Artest basically just picked LA because it was LA and also they had an opening for a starting sf.

Ariza basically picked Houston because they treated him well throughout the whole process and unambiguously want him to be their starter(edit: supposedly...most articles aren't that specific and are just saying it was about 'respect' though. They already tried to trade Battier for Rubio though, maybe they really are going to move him while his value is high). We're like the Cavs, we have a starting sf.

Even if Baby wants to leave, because they can match any offer, the C's have the leverage to get a sign and trade done.

The one difference is James SHOULD get more minutes than pierce.
If I were a backup SF i'd rather play for Boston where I'd get more playing time while competing for a championship.
