Quote
Today, with the news that Hedo Turkoglu is on his way to being a Blazer, Outlaw is the man in the spotlight. It's hard to imagine that all of Portland's small forwards -- Hedo Turkoglu, Nicolas Batum, Outlaw, Martell Webster -- will see significant playing time.

Many speculate that the Blazers will be making another move -- one that could involve Outlaw, who is young, skilled and affordable enough to be desirable on the trade market.

So, how does he feel about the Turkoglu news? Did it turn his stomach?

"When I first heard about it," he admits, "maybe a little bit. But now it's, aww, things happen for a reason. That's the way I look at it. ... That's just the NBA for you."

Outlaw is candid about the fact that he dreams of being an NBA starter, and one of the big name players fans talk about. He says it really doesn't matter to him which team that happens on.  "I definitely want to play more," he says. "I definitely want to get to a place in my career where I'm a starter. I also do want to win. But I could play anywhere in any system, as long as they have a winning mentality."

Does he care at all where that is? "No," he says. "Not really."

Then later in the story it says he IS FRIENDS WITH DANNY AINGE'S NEPHEW

Quote
Outlaw has another story, about having a swimming pool put into his backyard. The workers have a backhoe parked there. Outlaw, Davis, and Danny Ainge's nephew Erik (of the New York Jets) were hanging around and decided to try driving it.

"We were just trying to crank it up," says Outlaw. "We cranked it up. And all of a sudden I got really nervous. What if I run it towards my house, and then I can't stop it? I left it alone."

Come on Danny got on the phone with Portland! He has got to be on the trading block now with all the Wing players portland has. There has got to be a way to get him here . How about

BOS SENDS: Scal, Walker + Giddens, Plus a future 1st?

POR SENDS: Outlaw

I wish there was a way to S+T BBD for Outlaw, I think that would be a good trade for both teams.

Is there anyway to S+T BBD for him? Another poster said its not possible because one of them is a BYC Player... I think Portland would like BBD as a big man off the bench

I hope Outlaw is on the trading block, but seriously, I don't think that Ainge's nephew is really a big help for us in this case!

Though Danny must try to get Outlaw for our expiring contracts, he would be the perfect backup for Paul and I didn't even imagine he could be available!

Scal will eat them before they arrive in Portland most assuredly.

Boston only trades Scal if we get Roy and Fernandez in addition to Outlaw.

well if nothing else I guess it helps our chances to sign him as a free agent in a few years. Danny make sure your nephew stays friends with him!!!!!

I think he'll be a FA in 2010. I'm sure Ainge has two eyes on him along with Rudy Gay in 2010. But why wait? get him now, and lock him up.

Outlaw is definitely the odd man out, they will try to move him this summer.  I'm sure they will make a run at Hinrich now, since they likely can't afford Miller and Kidd is not coming, but the Bulls have plenty SF so unless they play Outlaw ahead of or behind Tyrus Thomas I'm not sure what they would want for Hinrich.  This also might mean Tim Thomas (who reportedly wants to come Boston) will become available (by buyout...preferable or trade...not so much) and he can play  3 positions so these are all things to consider.

Yea you are correct he is a free agent next year. Portland is not likely to resign him with money tied up with Hedo now. So Danny , make sure you nephew is in his ear about the C's

Gotta replace Marbury with Pruitt probably cause Marbury probaby isn't coming back which is unfortunate in my eyes.  Also, don't forget, there's no guarantee that Big Baby is back next year either.

Chicago already has Luol Deng and Salmons as wing players. I wonder if there is a 3 way trade that could be done where we could land Outlaw, BBD goes to the Bulls and Hinrich to Portland .
