There seems to be a large contingency of folks who think that Antonio McDyess would be a better option for the Celtics than "player X".  That may be all well and good, but it's moot.

McDyess isn't leaving Detroit.  He left once and came back, he's not leaving again.  I've heard this spoken many a time from reputable sources (Marc Spears for one).

So if you don't like "Player X" that's cool, but throw out a name that is a reasonable alternative, because Antonio McDyess isn't walking through that door.

sometimes you have to bite your lip, exhale and move on.  So, I have.

exactly my thinking...just b/c sheed goes elsewhere doesnt mean dice automatically comes here. i think dice stays in detroit no matter what happens...so that is why getting sheed is huge...there isnt much left as bigs when he goes

Why would he want to go back to Detroit again? I don't get it.

I am pretty sure we are strongly in the running for Antonio.

i would be very surprised if McDyess signed with us.  It's a pretty well known fact that he and Garnett are not the best of friends.  The reason McDyess may stay in Detroit is Dumars is the GM who believed in him and resurrected his career, and he feels loyalty to the Pistons organization.  I think if McDyess leaves Detroit, it will be for San Antonio.  Check out the links below:

Family, friends, life style.  He's said this over and over.  It's why he went back after Denver and it's why he doesn't want to leave.

But to ask everyone to stop talking about the possibility??? That just seems a little too much for me to accept.

Yeah, the McDyess hype on this board is unbearable.

Let´s start a "Sheed to Boston" thread, there aren´t enough of them.
We could post Youtube videos of his greatest jokes and drool over the fun we`ll have when he and Perk get technical fouls.

In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

agreed to a certain extent.  he remains a possibility, but he looks like a longshot that shouldn't be receiving as much forum attention as he is right now.  every rasheed forum has someone saying we should go after mcdyess instead.

I think until he signs somewhere, or says he doesn't want to come to Boston he is a possibility. Some people think he'd be a better fit than Sheed, I think this is laughable but everyone's entitled to their opinion. I'm not positive Sheed is signing with us but if he doesn't McDyess is a great fallback.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

The articles I've been reading on national sites seem far more optimistic about him leaving Detroit.

Especially since Detroit can't offer him nearly as much money as a team with the MLE can.

do you really want to spend the entire MLE on antonio mcdyess? i sure don't. they sign mcdyess they still need another big (no swift is not the answer)..a legit 6'6-6'7 wing and a point. you cannot give mcdyess the full mle..it has to be split between him and a wing player
