The Mavericks are expected to sign free-agent Quinton Ross to a contract next week.

The Dallas Morning News reported that the terms of the deal are not yet known.

Very nice signing by the Mavs. I love what they're doing this summer.

Bad news for Boston. Ross was one of the better minimum contract options on the wings.

If he's signing this early he won't be getting a minimum deal.

Sadly this is what happens when you are waiting on your MLE target to sign or say no. We're stuck waiting for his decision.

I think Ross has signed for the minimum. I thought he would sign early if a team showed strong interest in him. He only had a partially guaranteed contract last season, was left hanging for most last summer before getting a contract, and was almost waived at midseason despite being a good piece for his team. A fully guaranteed contract on a team that values you, and is a playoff squad, is an attractive situation.

Dallas has already spent the full MLE on Marcin Gortat so it's not the MLE. I suppose they could have used the LLE on Ross?

Right, Rasheed mulling our offer has nothing to do with not signing Ross... I'm guessing he will sign a 2yr vet. minimum contract - a deal the C's coulda offered on the first day of free agency.

I'm worried a little that Ainge is gonna wait to see who "shakes" out in Early August --- bargains like House and Posey. The problem is a lot of good players like Ross who coulda been had for reasonable money (i.e. vet min) may be gone by then

great....waiting until august to rebuild your bench with bargin bin players...tried that last year and it didn't work out so well...if danny does that again then just pencil in boston as the 3 seed in the east. they cannot get what they need waiting until august to sign stiffs like robert swift
