i doubt we would get marion or grant hill...if sheed goes elsewhere..i don't think boston gets anyone of real value and they are stuck with the great bench they already have

is this the predicting the worst in order to get the best strategy....like Bill Simmons picking the Lakers over the Cs...

I'm not saying I'm unfamiliar with the strategy, but your outlook is pretty bleak here...

mannix said he thought grant hill ends up in boston FWIW...which is something out of leftfield...outlook is just reality...seems boston cannot attract big time free agents...sheed should be a done deal but he is wavering...after him what big is left out there?

I guess Hill+Dyce would still put us in the hunt...but getting Sheed and Hill or Marion and Dyce would still be way better.

I don't know how we get Dice and Marion. I think

Sheed
Dice
Marion

would each take up most if not all of the MLE.

I think at this point we need to hope to land at least one of them...and then think LLE for the other postion.

who's the backup big that we could get if Marion uses the MLE?
I'm sure he was thinking Oberto.

Oberto as our first big off the bench....mmm, yeah not so into that.

If Sheed goes to the Spurs that's fine. He just needs to make make his decision quickly, so we don't miss out on all the other free agents.

if he goes to the spurs then what?? i dont see marion coming to boston..i think mcdyess stays in detroit...who is left? there would be no big time impact players out there for boston to compete with..it is all or nothing with sheed IMO...

My guess is that it has something to do with his personality/ego.  He has always wanted to be the man and he would be the 4th guy on our team.

I think if Sheed goes some place else then Ray better prepair for a trade. I don't think the Celtics want to but what else will the C's have left no bench just the starting five and that would not be good to have to trade Ray. >:(

Well where is the interest in Marion? He is the one prime FA that is flying below the radar right now.

is TOR really going to give a multiple year contract to him and risk not being able to bring back Bosh and another FA in 2010?

what real purpose is there in TOR spending extended years on Marion? What good did he do them last year?

Imagine finishing a game with Parker, Manu, Jefferson, Sheed, and Duncan. That's a lot of firepower. Geez.

I agree, but he isn't being talked about ANYWHERE...not just Boston....

he will start getting some love pretty soon I suspect.
