Shaq didn't look good at his press conference today

I mean obviously he's a big boy, but did anyone esle notice that he looked really out of shape and overweight?  Seriously, I was surprised when I saw him, he didn't look good.

 Well, maybe it was just those close up shots where you couldn't see much of him other than his enormous head that convinced me.  Still, he seemed bigger than normal to me.  Hard to tell with a suit on though I guess, and there is still plenty of time left before the season starts for all players to get in better shape.

I'm too but in Shaq's case it seemed like a serious diet :

One of the talking points out of the Suns camp over the last few days of the season was about improving the pick and roll defense with active, mobile big men. All indications point to Shaq wanting to be that man.

Trying to get more mobile on the interior? That can only mean two things. Amare getting better at what he already has the physical ability to do and/or Shaq getting more physically able to be more mobile.

Shaq has talked a lot about his diet this season and if you haven't noticed has already looked slimmer towards the end of the year then he did at the beginning.

In the last two meaningless Suns games of the season we even saw Shaq jumping out on the pick and rolls and switching screens. In other words, trying to be the change the Suns seek.

There is also a commercial aspect in his diet but he seems serious about it and I thought that he was thiner at this press conference.

Yeah but we're also 10 1/2 weeks removed from the time that this diet was going on.  It's non basketball related activity time, and who knows what he's been doing.  I mean, he wasn't playing for a new contract so its not like he had incentive to try to stay in great shape or something.

I guess its just a matter of perspective really.  But I watched that conference today and was struck by the way he looked.  I could be wrong.

Yep that picture i think underlines everything regarding his current shape and we are not even close to training camp time.

But thats a double edged sword with shaq, he could be supersizing up until september for all we know.

Regardless, i cant wait to match up with the cavs next season, its going to be fun.
