With the addition of Shaq to the Cavs this thought scares me. The Lakers are the defending Champs and the NBA missed out last year on a Lebron VS Kobe Finals. Now throw shaq into the mix against his old team , I think the Cavs will get many BS calls from the refs, even more than they already do for "King Cry Baby James".

it doesn't matter what the NBA wants if we play dominantly enough. refs can make up BS, but they can't make up good defense and potent offense. plus, as much love as lebron gets, BOS vs LA is where it's always been at and always will be at.

at the end of the day, we hold the keys to our own destiny.

No doubt that would be their dream series, but there's only so much the league can do.  They wanted a Cavs-Lakers finals this year, but the Cavs played like crap in the ECF.

can we please stop with this stuff?

Didn't we just have 2 months of angsty posts about how the NBA was fixed for a cavs/ lakers finals only to see orlando go through and get destroyed in a ratings bore fest for the NBA?

The NBA doesn't want anything. Certain executives might want certain things, but they don't have the ability to make them happen. Further, what an executive wants has no bearing on who gets an advantage from bad calls in the course of a game.

So what is there to fear?

The league has suffered through San Antonio winning and that likely killed ratings and hurt the popularity of the NBA in the US. But the executives are forced to live with those results.

from a marketing and financial standpoint, they absolutely want it.  however, every team is in control of their destiny!

What's to be afraid of?  They wanted that the last two seasons, so why wouldn't they want it this season?  They just want it even more now that Shaq (probably the most widely recognized active NBA player at this point besides LeBron and Kobe) is in the mix too.

Yeah, and it's not like a Boston/LA Finals would be a ratings disaster either.

Weren't we saying this about 2 months ago?  Look what happened.  The Cavs still can't beat Orlando, and an ancient Shaq can't change that. Also, we all know that a healthy Celtics team with a decent bench rolls to the title.  Let's at least wait until the season starts before we start talking about conspiracy theories,

I don't know why anyone would be afraid for a Cavs Lakers finals. Sheed is supposed to be the guy that would deside who was the best of the best acording to ESPN's experts 48 hours ago. But since then they havent made that statement must be cuz Boston is in the hunt for Sheed as we speek.
