That article also said that Artest was considering the Celtics.
If Artest and Sheed both came I'm predicting 70 wins.
I'm predicting 80
Yeah, the C's won 66 with Rondo and Perkins half the players they are today. I expect them to challenge for 70 with just Wallace or Artest.
If KG hadn't gotten hurt we might have gotten the greatest record of all time.
I seriously doubt it, in my mind our exemplary record in the beginning of last year was fools gold. We won a bunch of games we shouldn't have, coasted through a ton of the games that broke the Celtics single season record on persona alone, and were headed directly into a brick wall the whole time. You know what this team reminded me of? You know when you turn on the Boston marathon coverage in the first hour, and there's some random guy 100 yards ahead of everyone, all the other runners way off in the background. That guy's not winning the race.
Without the depth to rest your 3 thirty-plus starters, you can't keep up that kind of pace. The rest is history, the Lakers series exposed us, we spend three months having a team identity crisis, and then KG came down from an ally oop attempt with one less knee than he had going up. I remember the Bulls team that had that incredible 72 win season, lightening in a bottle as far as I'm concerned.
We had a better shot of winning the Championship if healthy last year than we ever would have had at winning 73+ games. Just one man's opinion...
