Artest or Sheed (poll)

I love Sheed for our team given our needs and since we now need another big to counter Shaq and Howard in the East.  However, I am very concerned about the fact that it's quite possible and very likely that Artest will end up in Cleveland, LA, or Orlando. Having to deal with Artest guarding Pierce and leaving Lebron to roam with Shaq down low is scary.  I am starting to think that the title contender who gets Artest gets the trophy.  The guy is a beast on defense and defense wins championships.  Who would you guys rather give the full MLE too?  I pray Houston gives him an offer he can't refuse, but knowing Artest he'll love being the center of attention.  I see LA giving up Ariza and getting Artest for the MLE, which is what they would have offered to Ariza.

Sheed. But I would love to see both. If Artest goes to Clevland or LA he will be the one guy on each team that plays Defence so I am not worried at all where he goes. SHEED SHEED SHEED

We have more of a need at the 4/5 spot but Artest overall is better than Sheed... he's 5 years younger than Sheed too... So i would chose Artest but I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE THEM BOTH!(doubt theres any way possible for that to happen though).

A backup C is a harder position to fill.  Especially if Davis get an offer the Celtics will not match.

Artest is still too young to think about coming off the bench for a contender. He is a WARRIOR and he should start on a contending team. I'd love to have the guy and I'd hate to see him go to Cleveland or LA. That's a scary thought!

We still have quite a bit of depth at the 1,2, and 3 spots. We need to fill the gaping hole in our bench and Sheed can play both positions. Sheed will provide a legitimate big man off the bench, giving us depth that is unmatched. If we find a way to keep Big Baby, I don't think theres a team in the league that can hang with us.

Front court depth is our biggest need. I'd rather struggle with Pruitt at the point and Walker getting all the backup SF minutes as long as we don't have a Mikki Morre esque big  coming off the bench.

Why not both? If the Celtics could somehow work out a sign and trade with Houston that involved youth and expiring contract it's possible... Although unlikely.

I'd go with Wallace who won't get more than a 1 year deal here.

I would prefer Artest, because he is a better player at this point of his career, but I think Sheed is more likely.  And while Sheed does fill a slightly bigger need, I think Artest's talent trumps that.

But if the C's come away with either of them, I will be ecstatic...and even moreso, if the other does not end up in Cleveland, Orlando, LA, or San Antonio.

Why couldn't we do a sign and trade with Houston for Artest? This way Houston atleast gets something and we can use our MLE for Sheed. Like a BBD, Scal, and Tony Allen for Artest? Don't know if the salaries match or anything but it may be a possibility.

That said we don't have the goods to Sign N Trade with Houston...unless Rondo is involved.

Rumor out of Cleveland is that the Cavs are looking into a sign and trade with Houston for Artest involving Anderson Varejao going to Houston

I don't know how a sign and trade would save Houston money.  My guess is they would prefer to just let Artest walk, and pocket the money until next season, unless they get an offer they can't refuse (which the C's won't make).
