Why does everyone not like Odom? We need a good candy eater anyway.

Will keep people posted. Tanguay said he spoke to Ainge about Sheed.

Tanguay milking his 15 minutes.

Ainge: Will wait on BBD and maybe match.

Tanguay sounds like Sheed's agent.

Basically no new news. I'm thinking there's a chance Sheed is just using Boston to up his final contract with someone else.

I was starting to feel the same way but then they said his family was coming and that is kinda weird. If he is just here to drive up the market. Would'nt he just come alone? I would think so but who knows whats in Sheed's head.

I think Sheed has genuine interest in the C's and don't think he would do this due to his relationship with KG.

I may have misunderstood Tanguay, but if I did understand what he was saying, is it really possible that he has as poor an understanding of the NBA salary cap as it appeared?
He seemed to be suggesting that the C's may contemplating paying an extra couple of million for Rasheed to get closer to the 8 million that Sheed said he wanted in order to keep playing.  Tanguay went on to suggest that the extra 2 million would then cost the C's 4 million as they'd then be over the luxury tax.  This is an apparent complete misunderstanding -- not only of how the MLE works but also where the C's are at present vis a vis the luxury tax.  The C's clearly can offer no more than the MLE (around 5.5 million?) and since the C's are already well across the luxury tax threshold, I believe everything they pay out from this point forward (with I think the exception of veteran mimimum salaries) count as luxury taxable. Glad to be corrected on this -- I may not have it completely correct, but I am sure (if I heard him correctly) that Tanguay showed an embarrassingly poor understanding of the NBA salary cap.
