With his size he'll eventually have to transition positions as his athleticism fades.

The Cav's line up with LeBron at the 4 was actually one of their most effective. But their weak SF situation and small back court meant they couldn't use it much.

Just think of LeBron as a much much better Shawn Marion. He's quicker, stronger, and more skilled than pretty much every 4 in the league. Plus he's 6'8" at least so he's not even that under sized.

He plays the 4 alot already actually, he has the size and athleticism to play both the 3 or the 4.

honestly, He almost doesn't have a true position on that team, they just play him as a point forward and have him defend the other teams best wing.

They almost have to do this anyway, they need an athletic player at the 4 to defend KG and lewis, which were both awful matchups for them due to there lack of a atheltic 4 and depth behind lebron at the SF.

IF they could have put lebron on lewis without having to feed turk either sasha or west as the 3 defender, they would have done alot better against orlando.

Yeah, LeBron is strong enough to play PF. Not sure if you want to put him through that much wear and tear during a regular season, though. They should pick their spots, and play small ball only every now and then.

His athleticism isn't going to fade for a while probably 10 years at least. This is a reaction to Rashard Lewis torching the cavs while playing the four spot. They want to sign someone who will allow them to have Lebron guard him and then have another defender guard the magics 3 (not really sure who that will be with Turk gone).
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

i agree on the multiple position thing, LBJ reminds me of Magic Johnson in that regard. however, i just can't see James going up against the amare's, tim duncans, KG's, and chris bosh's of the league. the guy is so **** fast, he can play wherever, but he should play the primary amount of minutes at SF, because he is not a PF...he'll take a beating there. it's like asking KG to play center. just cuz he can doesn't mean you do.

I don't think so, I think they want to give themselves the flexibility to go small at times. Just like the Celtics could in 2008 with Posey at the 4. Flexibility in what lineups you can run with is very important.

Besides LeBron already plays around 5-8 minutes a game at the 4.
